I grew up in the Episcopal church. My parish wasn't liberal by any means. But I enjoyed the church.

sonow, you guys are going to snoop and go after judges because of their religion? That's a chilling thought.

I did not expect a SCOTUS appointment to overturn Roe vs Wade. I do expect Congress to keep abortion limited to what it is now. I hope the conscious of mankind will do more to educate about prevention of pregnancy vs abortion.

He stated gay marriage is settled law. If trump replaces Kennedy with a more conservative pick it will even out when this guy goes left

It's not about Roe or Obergefell. Many conservatives believe he will be hard on immigration even though his wife is from England.

He is no Scalia.

He is the first Gen-X justice and he will be a different type of conservative.

In his first SCOTUS pick Trump should have went with a older traditional conservative. Then when Kennedy retires a younger conservative.

I think the abortion argument is over. However, I do believe that abortion is not an event that should be celebrated the way some people do.

I've asked a few people before that are pro-choice if they would have a problem with a woman having 6 abortions. They seemed to disagree with her doing that. So my question is if you whole-heartily believe in abortion, why would it matter how many a person has? If it is not wrong to have one, why would it be wrong to have 6?

It made them reflect a bit. I've said before that I'm middle of the road on abortion. There's positives and negatives to abortion.

Exactly. If it's only a blob of tissue, why should it matter?

I don't care about his views on gays.
Is there anything in the Constitution about Gays?

As long as he is a constitutionalist, I don't care if he is a Satanist!

He did everything he promised. You're not a Trump fan and not a fan of anyone really left of John Birch Society members. It's cool, bro.

Funny. I get called both a liberal and a John Birch member on this board. We spend so much time trying label and dismiss people, we miss that political views might not be so cut and dried.

I'm a classical conservative, though.

I fully allow that Gorsuch is a conservative. I supported him and still do. But, the chances of him veering left are high for a variety of reasons. His church is one.

All that said, I still support him. He's better than anyone Clinton would have appointed.
