If you care about debt and spending, you should care about this.

Nope. I disagree wholeheartedly. Root out the evil absolutely everywhere it rears its damned head. Our federal government is out of control and there's no way to reel it in without clamping down on all fronts. There is going to be a day of reckoning one way or the other. If we root out the corruption now maybe we can avoid a total collapse of the country that would inevitably result if we permit this crap to continue without addressing it head-on.
