This could cause the Democrats to win the Senate race in Montana. The Supreme Court needs to intervene ASAP.

Bloomberg

A federal appeals court rejected an emergency request by Montana Republicans to halt the automatically mailing of absentee ballots to all registered voters in the state.

The San Francisco-based appeals court on Tuesday denied the request to stay pending appeal a Sept. 30 order allowing the mailing to proceed. In that ruling, U.S. District Judge Dana L. Christensen (Obama appointee)in Helena, Montana, rejected as “fiction” claims by Republicans that mail-in voting will lead to widespread ballot fraud.

Though Republican-leaning Montana is expected to the vote for President Donald Trump by a substantial margin, the U.S. Senate race in the state between term-limited Democratic Governor Steve Bullock and Republican incumbent Steve Daines is a close one and could help determine which party controls the chamber next year.

Trump and the Republican National Committee have used allegations of voter fraud to try to block similar plans for mailing ballots or applications in several states, including Nevada, where a judge dismissed the campaign’s suit due to a lack of evidence. The claim is part of a broader effort led by Trump to cast doubt on the security of mail-in ballots.

I think Daines wins by 3-5+, this won't be enough to swing it.

Doesnt sound like its absentee if they are being mailed to all voters. Shocked the media would use dishonest language.

Yes you have to apply for an absentee ballot. Them mailing out absentee ballots to every voter is complete bullshite.

Sending the registration form to apply isn't

sounds like they're using the absentee structure to do universal mail-in voting, which seems to have cluster frick potential

i'll say it again

mail-in voting isn't the issue. all of these states who don't have the proper infrastructure for MIV trying to attempt it in 5-6 months with limited capabilities due to covid, are the issue. how anyone thinks that will go off without a hitch is beyond me

The other problem with this mail-in voting crap is that each county will arbitrarily look at whether a ballot is signed, has a witness signature, or the signatures don't match up before they reject or accept it.

Morgan County in Georgia had a 1.84% rejection rate but Cobb County had 22,331 people vote by mail-in ballot and they didn't reject one ballot. Fulton had 26,529 people vote by mail-in ballot and they rejected 1 ballot.

Or the automated system to tabulate the votes rejects the ballot because the voter didn't fully blacken the oval when they selected their candidate.

So Bullock is using emergency orders to suspend the voting rules in his own election?

Banana. Republic.

Clinton won Cobb by 2.1%, Fulton by 42.1%, and Trump won Morgan by 41.3%.

Hmmm, funny how that works.

If the GOP takes the house and keeps the Senate. They need to reduce the 9th's jurisdiction to CA, OR, WA and Hawaii.

This may be a really stupid question but how was voting done in Montana prior to the upcoming election? Who made the changes and how? Do changes not require a change in the laws?

Ok, several questions. Lol

Sadly, yes. Including my stupid-arse brother and his wife.
Missoula is to Montana what Boulder is to Colorado, Seattle is to Washington, Portland is to Oregon, etc.

Republicans need to use stuff like this to show people in republican states like Montana, WV ect that they should never vote for a democrat, that none of them are moderate and they all lie and cheat .
