Good news: California voters likely to reject prop that allows race-based discrimination

California Proposition 16, the Repeal Proposition 209 Affirmative Action Amendment, is on the ballot in California as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment on November 3, 2020.
A "yes" vote supports this constitutional amendment to repeal Proposition 209 (1996), which stated that the government and public institutions cannot discriminate against or grant preferential treatment to persons on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in public employment, public education, and public contracting.
A "no" vote opposes this constitutional amendment, thereby keeping Proposition 209 (1996), which stated that the government and public institutions cannot discriminate against or grant preferential treatment to persons on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in public employment, public education, and public contracting.

I mean when you look at the literal phrasing nobody in their right mind in 2020 wants to repeal civil rights protections. How do you vote to repeal that and not think WTF am I doing?

Based on the history of Prop 8 it seems these California propositions don't really mean anything.

i have noticed lately when many people expose how old they are and then you look at what date they created accounts here.....many created accounts when they were 15 or 16 after you do the math. I will bet OP is 19 years old. definitely under 30. still lives in moms basement like a soy boy. has no job and pays zero taxes. obviously if he made that statement about POTUS policies having no affect on people.
he ran his dicksucker and now cannot back up his dumbass statement.

Liberal Californians have long been pissed off by the fact that ever since affirmative action was abolished, Asians have dominated admissions into state universities. I believe that top-tier schools like Berkeley, USC and UCLA have become 30-40% Asian after affirmative action was abolished. A lot of liberals are upset and want to bring down the Asian numbers.

Prop 187 before it got killed because the state refused to defend it in court.
It passed then Jerry Brown fricked it as state AG.

That's not going to stop their government from forcing it through.
If you recall, Prop 8 passed by over 600,000 votes, yet the courts and their state government ignored it and did what they wanted anyway.
