It was in the 20’s this past weekend here on the shore of Lake Superior.

It’s in the 40’s today.

Just a quick “back of the envelope” calculation tells me it will be eleventy billion degrees by October.

Caused by both actually. Cheniers go back pre human history and survived numerous hurricanes and floods. Sea levels rise and fall. Destruction of cheniers isn’t manmade.

Wrong, you doofus. The oldest cheniers are thousands of years older than the first oil field canal.

There are five "could"s within the article you posted. Sorry but that's not a convincing argument in my book.

I had a professor 20 years ago tell me it was already too late. I was wondering what she was doing south of I10 if she thought sea levels were going to flood us.

Thank god we have politicians at the helm to solve/fix a problem that’s existed on this planet for billions of years.

When in doubt, call people names.

The cheniers were naturally built by the annual floods in the basin and delta areas. The floods deposited fresh sediment which help restore the marshes.

The building of levies, canals, and clearing of log jams has reduced the replenishment rate.

Taken directly from the coastal restoration project summary.

I read that report. It is a specific chenier ridge among the numerous ridges along the La coast. I'm a geologist. Don't question my seal level knowledge ability.

When I discovered that GW was a hoax back in the late 90s it was from reading how all the computer models are fake. They are rigged to show big increases in heat. And now we have this from the OP link:

For the study, the team used their own newly developed computer model, called CLIMBER-X,

It’s one example of a broader issue.

Interior CP wetland loss over the past century is largely due to anthropogenic alteration of wetland hydrology by canals, construction of leveed impoundments for waterfowl management, and salinity intrusion caused by enlargement of the Sabine, Calcasieu and Mermentau River navigation entrances

Nice appeal to authority fallacy.
