This is probably the most overlooked part of still-expanding online censorship:

It's not "just" being done by private corporations (which are monopolies). It's being done in unison with state actors, often at the behest of those officials.

It's merged state & corporate power:

The woke industrial complex at its finest:

Mark Zuckerberg (Big Tech) effectively teams up with Dr. Fauci (Big Government) to decide what counts as “misinformation.”

They effectively covered up the Chinese lab leak last year: Fauci dismissed it, Facebook censored it.

I’ve said repeatedly that there is a very lethal and incredibly powerful consolidation that has formed between corporations, Big Tech, government, media, academia, and education that threatens the survival of American values and freedom.

This lays bare the idiocy of the idea of “private businesses doing what private business wants.” That’s not what is happening.

Along those same lines, when college and university professors clamp down on conservative students…..aren’t those professors an extension of government, albeit at the state level?

You probably have some people that want to do honest investigative journalism, but when they dig too deep at the wrong people, they are fired or threatened. Greenwald was being censored by a site he started (the Intercept). It's crazy he and Taibbi had to go to their own site.

Yes, and they’re also a gatekeeper to good jobs, especially ones in the private sector.

The education industry, the private sector, government, the party.

They’re all one thing now. And they function as extensions of each other.

Fauci shouldn't make any decisions, he's not an elected official. He can give recommendations, but thats it. Starting to think Trump knew and stuff is going on behind the scenes w all these drops.

He probably didn’t know about this. He was most likely preoccupied with coronavirus and operation warp speed.

Still, Trump’s biggest mistake was not getting rid of certain people (Wray, Fauci, etc), trusting the wrong people (Barr, etc), and having people that were afraid of pulling the trigger (Sessions).

It’s difficult being a non politician/outsider and coming into the government. The government is a huge behemoth. Who do you trust? How do you know? Practicality demands that you must depend on some people.

There was enough evidence of a leak for any reporter looking to become rich and famous to track it down. No one did. Other than straight up partisanship, it's hard to understand why no one wanted to touch what will probably turn out to be one of the biggest stories of the last 50 years.

I know fascism is one of those words that has lost much of its meaning, but the merging of business power and government power(acting as one) was a component of fascism. This may not be “it” but we’re headed that way.

Very true, but he has it figured out now. He came into office the first time wanting to work with people and compromise. When he re-takes office, you can expect some changes. It's going to be biblical. I wonder if there is a way to short housing prices in the DC area.

It’s pretty easy to understand. They knew that would guarantee Trump’s reelection as the whole campaign would have become about what to do with the Chinese

This is why people like LSUFanHouston will continue to cause us to lose to the left with their Muh principles bullshite. They fail to see that these large corporations are acting at the behest of big government.

(Ecomomic) FASCISM

In terms of economics, fascism incorporates elements of both capitalism and socialism. Fascist economists advocate for self-sufficiency and individual profit, but promote government subsidies of corporations. Fascist economics thus supports a blend of both private and public ownership over the means of production—there is an emphasis on private profit, but at the same time, the national interest is ultimately more important.
