The only possible explanation would be he was hit with a high velocity round that caused massive initial trauma but that it missed an artery or vein and he was stabilized by someone who knew what they were doing.
I hope he’s right but until I hear something official I’m extremely skeptical.

I work in trauma, I don’t see how that’s possible. Someone must have immediately held pressure on the neck that knew what they were doing.

I'll take any good news at the moment. Sounds like he received quick aid and there was a hospital close by.
But man, that looked like a catastrophic injury. Praying there is no spinal chord damage or neurological impairment related to blood loss. The neck is really bad place to be wounded.

He looks like he lost a pint of blood in the time the video cuts off, which is like 3 seconds after the shot. Just don't see any way you can stop that level of blood loss.

Maybe someone immediately got to him and compressed the wound. that is a major artery, hopefully no massive blood loss to the brain or heart.
