Earlier today my 11 year son came down after finishing his first period History class in virtual school (we opted out of in person learning due to COVID-19). He said they’ve been watching the inauguration all morning, and him and his classmates feel there is a “new hope” without Trump as president and Biden in office.
I don’t know why he has this opinion, although I do know he and my wife spend much of their time on “progressive” (as they call it) Twitter. Regardless, we must put our differences aside and come together as a nation. I truly believe we must give Biden, his socioculturally diverse administration, and his policies a chance.
In coordination, today I bought the BLM yard sign my son wanted for Christmas, despite our political differences. I hope we all take a stand for unity for all.

Your son is a millennial

Let that sink in.

Regardless, we must put our differences aside and come together as a nation.

What the frick do you think Trump tried to do for four years?

It’s the fricking liberal party that would not come together

Nah. Trump wasn't given a chance not going to concede to be kind when they weren't.

A chance until his slew of executive orders tomorrow? Sure I guess.

He should be given the same chance Trump was given. You know fairness and equity and shite.

Sure. I'll give Biden as much of a chance as the MSM gave Trump.

The man stands in opposition to most of the things I value and has been very vocal that he will take action in that direction.

No, I will not give him a chance. I don't have any control over what happens to this country from here on out, but I'm pretty sure little of it will be "hopeful".
