1970, and he was recruited to run against Ralph Yarborough, not Bentsen.

It shocked EVERYONE when Bentsen beat Yarborough in the Dem primary.

It's amazing we are still standing honestly.

We are a nation blessed. Nothing changes that. Even when we had Presidents who didn’t believe it. Those men appreciated our blessings, even though those who were ungrateful hurt them.

I get discouraged too. But it’s Christmas. Keep the faith.

I have a copy of War Is A Racket around here somewhere. The movie Amsterdam is loosely based on the Business Plot where Prescott Bush and other rich mfs tried to get Smedley to participate in a coup to overthrow Roosevelt. Robert DeNiro played the fictional Smedley role and was the worst part of a mediocre movie.

bullshite.

He damn sure wasn't director but there is a picture of him standing in Dallas that day. Of course he said it wasn't him. Then he didn't remember where he was that day? Ask anyone where they were on 9/11 and 100% chance they remember. That day was no different.

I'm not convinced of that. Reagan spent the Soviet Union into bankruptcy (iirc, it was just dumb luck they collapsed before we did. I was part of the military in the 80's and all those stories about $800 hammers and $1,000 toilet seats were 100% correct. Probably even worse that the public understood.)

You can not spend money like that and not have tax implications. But I'm not an economist.

I never cease to be amazed by the sheer volume of mind-numbingly stupid things that people believe.

What part of the military? I knew a guy with the Pentagon back then who could give you reasons why there were 800.00 hammers and 1000.00 toilet seats. Some of them made sense....some did not.

People like that are allowed to vote. Think about that. Did I get the meme language right?

Yep, and he makes a phone call from Tyler 90 minutes later to tell family he is in Tyler. You see, Tyler is a 90 minute drive from Dealey Plaza!!

JFK, JR. had a magazine named George. Someone asked him if it was named for George Washington and he said "no it was named for the guy that killed my Dad."

J Edgar Hoover memo from 1963 (declassified)
"Mr George Bush of the Central Intelligence Agency", last paragraph. They work more than one job at a time, especially when one job provides cover for another. He was long established Agency for a decade before that and not just some low level agent.

Yep - Bush clan is a corrupt criminal group of thieves that headed the mafia for 2 generations. They all belong at the gallows …
