It depends on the nation the US is trading with and whether they too are using tariffs and unfair trade policies to undermine US workers and businesses.
If you're talking about China I would say some do believe tariffs are necessary to combat the slave labor China uses to produce cheap goods that are exported to the US. Overall I think most America First/MAGA types believe in fair and open trade as long as the nation's sovereignty and security are not being sold out to the cheapest bidder by our corrupt government and their corporate partners .......aka the US Corporatocracy. I can tell you 100% unrestricted free trade with no standards or restrictions is exactly what the Globalists pine for. Are you a Globalist?
