You can empathize with gays. Doesn’t mean you have to support gay marriage. Jesus loves everyone imo but I don’t believe he’d support gay marriage. Simple.

What about those who don’t believe in Jesus? Why penalize people who don’t share your beliefs when their beliefs don’t actually affect you in any way?

Matthew 16:4 - And Jesus said unto them, “Lo, if the gays figure out how to gain permission from Caesar to wed it will be the end of all this.”

It destroys values. I am a sinner. I trust that God’s understanding is greater than mine.

Marriage is biblical. You are making a statement of faith before God.

The Bible makes it clear that practicing, unrepentant homosexuals will go to hell.

People have been trying to end Christianity since Jesus started His earthy ministry. Not gonna happen. Jesus has already overcome the world. It’s part of the unexplainable peace the one true God gives His children.

It’s not about what affects people or their personal beliefs or that it’s anyone’s job to penalize anyone else. It’s about how sin has separated us from a holy God and He has made one way to come to Him and that’s having that sin forgiven by faith in His only son, Jesus Christ.

And if you say but what about all other religions, I would say all other religions say the same thing when you boil them all down. They say be good enough and you might get to the good afterlife. But Christianity says you believe in the only one who was good enough to get into heaven and He clothes you in His righteousness, so you get in by faith!! It’s beautiful and worth telling others about. Jesus gives eternal life!!

I would also ask that you do your research on Christianity. It’s backed up by science, history, geography, archeological finds, real historical manuscripts and undeniable facts that completely support the resurrection of Jesus!

You can trust in Christ today my dude!

Dear Chicken,

Can we have a Religion Board. OP’s topic has nothing to do with politics.

Sincerely,

It doesn’t destroy my values. I don’t like it but oh well, it’s not my life so I don’t care

It affects how others act around you and abroad. Therefore, it affects others so it’d be smart to care and to not approve. Think the greatest commandment (love God, love others).

It is interesting to me that there is a divergence of opinion even within denominations. My congregation is very conservative and takes a dim view of homosexuality but other parishes are more accepting. It seems that as Christians we are not on the same page.

If God is real, He doesn't have to bless any wedding ceremony He doesn't want to. The humans perform a ritual that's symbolic. Any pastor or priest that approves of this should be abandoned by its congregation. But it certainly shouldn't be illegal.

Fear not, oh ye of faith... Gay marriage is not up to the clergy to say God blessed a union or not. Only the Father can do that.

So.... Why even bother worrying about it?

How does “not” allowing two gays get married personally affect you?

Just curious.

Bible has not changed. Homosexuality is always a sin and is wrong. End of story.

That’s like saying macaroni will
be the end of nuclear fission…neither has anything to do with
the other.

Christ said the gates of hell
will NEVER prevail against His Church. Period.

Probably true. He was not a noted secularist.

OTOH, I suspect that He WOULD have supported a First Amendment for the Roman Empire, to assure the rights of religious minorities like his own Jewish community.

Why? They can't make new anti-Christians. Just like trans people, they can't breed and therefore end the mental illness.

Christians in the US will suffer as a result of marriage. God hates abortions as well.

This is dumb seeing as it isn’t ok in Islam either, heck, they are more against it.

Islam is only against gayness if one of them isn't a minor.
