Aside from the fact that this election should be competitive and is occurring at a time with little else going on, this would not be newsworthy on a national level. Look for the result to be a harbinger of nothing.

Both parties have spent a very similar amount. The source of the funding for each may be different but total spending is almost equal.

Funny how "muh campaign finance reform" has disappeared over the last year and a half.

This is not true. Republican spending has matched Democratic spending overall.
Ossoff is getting his money from small donors all over the country, Handel is getting hers from PACs funded by large donors.

I vote conservative but Handel is exactly the type of politician I hate. Voting for her would seriously be a vote against Alyssa Milano and that makes it OK.

sure, but it is a heavily red district.

Exactly how red Georgia 6 is matters, both for forecasting who will win and for interpreting what the results of the special election mean. Yes, Trump barely squeaked by Hillary Clinton there, but most other Republican candidates — presidential and House — have done much better. Tom Price, who represented the district in Congress until he resigned to become Trump’s secretary of health and human services, carried it by 23 percentage points in 2016. Mitt Romney beat Barack Obama there by the same margin in 2012. We know from past House elections that our best bet for measuring the political lean of a district is a weighted average2 of the last two presidential elections, with the most recent election weighted a bit more. By this weighted average, Georgia 6 is about 9.5 percentage points more Republican than the nation as a whole. (That is, if there were a tie in the national popular vote, a Republican would be expected to win Georgia 6 by 9.5 points.)

Georgians don't even care about this guy.
They care more about him than his opponent according to the polls.

Surely this means Hillary will be president

Sorry to burst your bubble chief, but big money PAC's rule the DNC just as much as they do the RNC.

One quick thought about this. During the time from the Ga6 primary through last week, Briton called for, campaigned for and tallied a nationwide general election. This week they named and put in place their new cabinet.
We still have a week to go in the GA6.

Sorry to interject a little reality into your InfoWars day champ, but in this race my statement was true.

I will laugh my arse off if he wins that district.

She should win, but even if the GOP loses the race they will get the seat back during the midterms.

I live in the district (unlike Ossoff) and the number of ads is like nothing I have ever seen at any time or any level. Up until the debate, it seemed like 80% of the ads were for pajama boy. Handel noticeably increased her ad buys last week...... now it seems like the Ossof/Handel ad ratio is more like 60/40.
I heard a new Handel one this morning on the radio that mentioned Hank Johnson and the Guam tipping over thing. Very infantile.

ossoff is young but he is out hussling the republicans. props to him.
He does have this ridiculous commercial where he says he has a security clearance based on "Need to know."
"Need to know" is one of the pillars upon which the security clearance system is based. But the job responsibilities come first. If you don't have the job, you don't have the need.

He's had a slight lead for months. Why do you think this is news?

Wow, you can find anything on the internet.
