And the EU said, weve got a better idea WE will tax them here, that worked real well Janet.

This is, by definition, a big government agreement.

The reason Biden wants this to allow him to raise corporate tax rates, with less fear of businesses leaving due to increase in taxes.

Fear of losing businesses is the one check businesses have in dealing with heavy taxes and regulations from the government.

This is a horrible, gross overstep.

When all the governments collude to end the free market, Dems and Republicans cheer.

fricking clown world

Just a dumb question.

Do any of the g7 countries have a corporate tax of under 15 percent right now?

That seems pretty low for any of these countries.

No. The UK got as low as 19% and was scheduled to go to 17% until COVID hit. Now, they will climb back to 25%.

The purpose of this proposal isn't to get everyone on one rate but to buck the trend of lowering rates.

This proposal is a step but it's hardly the only action countries will take to curtail base erosion and profit shifting.

Much adieu will be made about Ireland holding to its 12.5% rate but that's not even the biggest concern stremming from the Irish tax regime. They could bump it to 15% and they would still be sticking it to a number of other countries with their capital allowance rules for intangible assets.

When will people understand, Corporations Don't Pay Taxes. Any expense is passed on to the user/buyer. I really wish colleges and high schools would require some basic economics classed for graduation.

That’s not Biden’s plan. That’s Susan Rice’s plan. Biden is busy cleaning his diaper.

So you would repeal GILTI? Would you couple that with a rate decrease to keep investment from flowing out?

I just want to be clear with what you mean by this--you are OK with countries setting their rates low or do you actually support tax schemes that involve things like treaty abuse?
