I think these are private charter pilots/planes...which is probably why state dept doesnt want them to be successful. Makes Biden state dept look inept if a couple groups can orchestrate the retrieval of american citizens but our government operating with a trillion dollar budget cannot

The DailyMail is an unreliable British tabloid- on a par with Gateway Pundit.

This story is shite. They cite the NY Times and the cited article contradicts the claim being made by the DM.

From the Times article:
quote:

According to documents reviewed by The New York Times, the U.S. military approved three flights to take about 1,000 evacuees, including dozens of American citizens, to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

Qatar has also provided diplomatic clearance for the flights to land, but the Taliban must first allow the planes to depart Mazar-i-Sharif.

“If and when the Taliban agrees to take off, we are tracking that the landing sites will be prepared to accept the expected flights,” the State Department said in an email to congressional officials.

The U.S. government isn't allowing the planes to leave, not the Taliban.

Like CNN & MSNBC will report this. Get real.

As quoted in the article you linked, Michael McCaul (R) the ranking member of the House Foreign Relations committee, disagrees that it's America that is holding up the departures, and blamed it on the Taliban:
quote:

McCaul said six airplanes at Mazar-i-Sharif have been cleared by the State Department but the Taliban are refusing to allow them to leave.

“Well, they are not clearing airplanes to depart. They’ve sat at the airport for the last couple days, these planes, and they’re not allowed to leave,” McCaul told host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.”

How do the flight organizers know it's not the Taliban?

All the flight organizers are blaming the State Dept. It must be the thing to do.

How do they know it's not the Taliban? They dont.

Naveed Jamali @NaveedAJamali · 18h Also @RepMcCaul was absolutely incorrect as characterizing any of these people as hostages. There is nobody being denied exit of the country, or being detained on a plane. Instead the Taliban has not granted clearance for the planes to leave. Spoke to two sources who confirmed.

The editor of Newsweek is an absolute dumbass (just like Texdiddler).

@RepMcCaul was absolutely incorrect as characterizing any of these people as hostages.

There is nobody being denied exit of the country, or being detained on a plane

is contradicted in his same statement by:

the Taliban has not granted clearance for the planes to leave

The lunacy of the left on full display.

To think that Tex buys into this bullshite.

You are too stupid to post.

My posts were in response to a post that said the State Dept. was holding up departures.

You're an airhead.

Your posting continues to show what an actual dumbass you are. Your next cogent thought will be your first. And… I doubt it’s coming anytime soon given your history.

Serious question? When you spend all day in your parents basement do they ever tell you to go outside and play with the other kids or do they just leave you be hoping one day you may move out?

Be it one or the other, the problem is that we are having this argument in the first place. A competent withdrawal would have prevented this in its entirety.
