Newsom's staff has now walked it back and is trying to say it isn't treu that Panera is exempted, but the LA Times is having none of that and is all over Newsom's arse.

"On Thursday, amid rising outrage, Newsom’s office put out a statement calling the Bloomberg story “absurd” and suggesting Panera is not exempt from the law because it mixes the dough at an off-site location and only bakes and sells the bread at the restaurant.

OK, but we’re going to need some proof. Because the carve-out for bakeries has been reported numerous times using Panera as the example of a restaurant that would benefit from the exemption. The governor’s office has yet to explain publicly why the bakery exemption was even warranted. And Assemblymember Chris Holden (D-Pasadena), who carried the bill, said he had nothing to do devising the bread break."

Basically calling Newsom a liar.

Newsom is a slick dude.

He’s real quick to lie and/or twist the truth hoping voters have no clue.

He knows that conservatives won’t vote for him and liberals either don’t know he’s lying or don’t care.

Liberals love candidates that look and sound good. He fits their mold 100%

This bears repeating.

Keep in mind that BK and Popeyes are now part of the same corporation, so you have different types of shitty customer service.

Adam Carolla decimates Gavin Newsome in this interview. This is someone that doesn't give a F handles people like Newsome. One of my favorite clips.

I thought have seen burgers dropped on the floor and then cooked, I have seen workers with cuts in their hand bare handing food, hell I have seen a chick at McDonald's in Walmart bite into a burger and a roach crawl to out of her mouth.

While I can't be 100% about the butcher, I'll trust him a little more not to screw my beef for 2 two reasons mainly. 1. I lean towards thinking a guy wouldn't pull his dick out while he is slinging a meat clever and 2. He doesn't have a line of dumbasses complaining about a missing pickle while he is trying to do his job

Well, I mean… You wouldn’t frick the meat while you’re chopping it. You’d frick it afterwards right before you put it in the display case… I would think.

This was discussed a few months ago. The problem is, what quality employee wants to work at Panera for $15 when they can go across the street to another place and make $20.

It depends.

What is the other place? Burger King?

There is something with people not willing to take x% pay raise for a shittier job.

but if I didn't know of his connections I would assume the exemption was to cover low margin places like small doughnut shops...

But at the end of the day….the workers bills aren’t any lower because they work at a doughnut shop. Cost of living doesn’t care about who employs you.
