It’s rubber stamp makes no difference to me or anyone else who decided we won’t get it no matter what

Why? We have no long-term data on it yet
It is a vaccine. The active ingredients consist of mRNA inside an envelope made up of two lipids. The inactive ingredients are cholesterol, sodium phosphate, potassium chloride, sodium chloride (aka salt), sucrose, and water. The lipid envelops bind to dendritic cells and release the mRNA within a few hours after injection. Those lipid envelops are then degraded by the body. The mRNA makes the spike proteins for the immune system recognize but by 3-5 days after injection all the mRNA has been used up or natural killer cells have killed the infected dendritic cells. So the components of the vaccine do not stay in the body long enough to cause long term damage.

Guess they offered the speediest and highest 'reward' for approval!

This is the part where the goalposts move for a lot of people. Have to cling to something else for jot getting it.

Myocarditis

Myocarditis
Fancy word for inflammation of the heart with a incidence rate of 4.8 cases per 1,000,000 vaccinations per JAMA. It also resolves on its own without treatment within a few weeks. So it is not really that prevalent or a long term issue.

Irrelevant. The FDA needs to look at short and long-term data for FDA approval. Speculation is not a substitute for actual data.

How are you defining long-term, baw? We have a years worth of data at this point.

Oh for frick's sake. It has been given to hundreds of millions of people worldwide and there is a data overload. No other vaccine or drug in history has this many subjects and/or this much data available or been as closely reviewed as the covid-19 vaccines have. Saying that more data is needed for a vaccine that has been given to hundreds of like saying need more data to tell us beer and titties are a great combination.

Moderna is much more effective 6 months out.
Moderna is a higher dose (100 microgram vs 30), may explain why efficacy has held up better than Pfizer. Would also explain why the side effects feel worse.

How long?
There is over a years worth of data on the trial patients.
There are drugs and procedures that have been approved with those types of timelines on follow ups.
There is a distinct urgency from a medical perspective and from an economic/social perspective to have an effective measure to help this pandemic.
The shot works. All this crap about 40% efficacy is dumb because even without a booster it improves hospitalizations and deaths which is a HUGE deal when you are talking about a virus that essentially everyone is going to eventually get.
If you don’t want to take it it’s your right.
Just don’t blame the FDA for approving something that has been proven safe
