Per the BBC itself.

Doesn’t matter how you look at them. Cable, satellite, streaming, rabbit ears,…

But, hey, at least you get a break for excluding the coloreds. (Could there be any better indicator how out of date this policy is?)

quote:

The government calculates the licence fee increase by using an annual inflation rate rather than a monthly one, which has been used in some previous years.

The fee applies to UK households if they download or watch any BBC shows on iPlayer, watch or stream shows live on any other online TV service, or watch or record programmes as they're being shown on any TV channel.

The rules apply to any device, including TVs, laptops, phones and tablets.

The annual cost of a black-and-white TV licence will also rise by £2 from £58.50 to £60.50 for the new financial year.

The UK has vans that drive around and make sure people aren’t watching TV without paying. Wild shite

What is this?

Do you pay a license for every TV?

Is it a one time fee or annual?

I used to live there. Thought it was a joke. It was not.

What a surprise. Was told it was to pay for BBC, etc.. it was very nice to watch Tv almost uninterrupted by commercials.

They will tax anything they can get away with.

Yup.
Windows (that's why you see openings in walls that have been bricked in)
Closets (they use(d) wardrobes instead).

Not sure how it is nowadays.

Can't remember if I had a TV license in my Air Force dorm room or if the AF picked up the tab. I remember it was super easy to open the upstairs window to reach over and tap into the neighbor's cable connection.

UK is done, stick a fork in it. They deserve what their woke asses brought upon themselves.

Everyone is Stealing TV -- theverge.com (use icognito mode... may still need subscription)

I'm wondering how popular the 'superbox' is over there. I've known folks buying them State-side. $200-$400 (depending on version), gets you thousands of channels.

At some point, I'm sure we'll all see them.
