Sources tell me Rubio is gonna get his child credit. Marco wants a tax break for himself.

Is this bill in danger of going over 1.5 trillion over ten years? A lot of the announced agreements will drive up the cost of the bill

This is fake news. Last night I made some calls to some policy makers in D.C. and they told me more than likely the CTC will be increased beyond the $2000 in the Senate bill and additionally be partially refundable against the payroll tax. Marco has always stated these were his stipulations and by all accounts they will be accommodated with him voting yes.

This incentivizes people to work which in the end drives up the GDP. This is a good news story for everyone involved!

That's really the rub. No way Rubio is ultimately going to vote against this, so I imagine he's going to get what he wants on CTC. Since there isn't much wiggle room on further additions to the deficit, everything that costs more has to be paid for by something else. So what is going to have to change to get the CTC further expanded?

It will likely be "paid for" by makign the cuts expire a year earlier, reducing repatriation rates, among other things.

Marco will be a yes I can assure you unless something completely falls apart regarding the CTC. Right now there is an agreement to expand the CTC beyond the $2000 in the Senate bill and to make it partially refundable against the payroll tax.

In reality the CTC is the best way to cut taxes for hard working American families. Anyone who says otherwise is exactly why the GOP has the stigma they only care for the donor class.

Expansion of the CTC

This shite needs to be done away with (I am a parent). Those that breed should not be dependent on a tax credit for doing so. Why can't we have policies that reward good behavior opposed to subsidizing irresponsible behavior? If you cannot afford to care for a child, don't fricking have one. Just lower my tax rate, but don't dole out someone else's money that doesn't qualify because they didn't have a child.

This isn't the worst of the pro child-bearing policies of the U.S., welfare parents should not receive 1 cent more if they choose to reproduce while on government assistance. If they agree to take birth control and refrain from child bearing while on assistance, hell, let's throw another $100 or so at them a month.

And that line of thinking is exactly how you get a Moslem majority in the United States much like in Europe. We need to increase incentives for American families to procreate in order to protect our society!

Do you know what he's wanting adjusted?

its about that 20 vs 21% corporate tax rate thing, he had something good in the tax bill they took out because it would raise the rate from 20% to 20.5% so they took it out claiming no matter what they had to keep the rate at 20% to have the intended affect of business growth.

now they upped the corporate tax rate to 21% anyway, so he is rightly mad they arent putting his amendment back in when the only reason they took it out was to keep the rate at 20% so he does have a good point here.

the Rubio-Lee amendment would make the child tax credit refundable against payroll taxes
