I don’t think they actually “reporting” a $60M settlement as fact, they were just repeating rumors, which may or may not be true.

How fast is he going to blow through that?

Odds that he'll be broke within 5 years?

Let's get to the root of the problem. It is almost comical just how incompetent Roger Goodell is for a person in a position at his level. This man makes over 40 million a year & has had more screwups, scandal, & missteps this side of Kenneth Lay(Enron for all you youngsters) in his tenure as commissioner. At this point it is on the owners who continue to employ him as commissioner. Nothing is going to change until THEY make the decision to get rid of him.

On a side note if you are a fan of the NFL, pay attention every Friday. This is the day they LEAK out any bad news that would be considered detrimental to the NFL. They do this strategically as it is the slowest news time going into the weekend when they think the least amount of people will be paying attention. Goodell is a lawyer....... Watch this in the future. You are welcome.

This is exactly what happened.

The NFL didn't want this to go to court, even knowing they would ultimately win there.

They gave away that money purely for PR purposes, they didn't want the SJW shite storm that a trial would have involved.

60M to the NFL is chump change after all.

What a bunch of cowards.

Kap was offered a position in the new AAFL league. In that league ever player makes the same amount. 70k I think. Their entire payroll for all players is 29 million. He wanted 20 million to play

This whole debacle is a TRUE legacy of jug eared Hussein and the way he sowed division and failure in this country.

People don't understand what I'm telling them when I talk about all of the people the president appoints, and all who they appoint, etc., and how that seeps into the mainstream culture of the country. We'll be feeling Obama's ripple effects indefinitely. It's why I wanted Trump to fire everyone from Obama's term, regardless of consequences.

Wow. Won more money than any NFL contract would have paid him.

They are so fricking stupid.

They didn't settle for just PR reasons. The ratings were up 3% from last year (when they dropped 5%). They don't want this to drag out (final arguments were coming up) and then have a decision drop during free agency, or the Combine, or the NFL draft. Not to mention the various out of context quotes that would invariably crop up.

The sooner this ends, the better for the ratings. Which helps with the television right negotiations that will start relatively soon (ESPN rights end in 2021, everyone else in 2022).

The left always picks the weirdest heros. Kaepernick is pretty much the poster child for fake victim.

The dude isn't even black.
He flamed out of the NFL for sucking.
He's made far more money off his "victimhood" than he ever did playing football.

He's played the race card masterful all the way to the bank, exploiting white guilt liberals for the maximum $.

The dude is a scumbag but I admire his hustle in a way.

Dude, the Jussey hoax is still hot on the table and you have the gaul to openly doubt that race hustling is a thing?
