obama..in yet another one of his many lies and broken promises vowed to kick the lobbyists to the curb- so much for that!-nothing surprises me anymore with the majority of these greasy politicians on both sides of the spectrum ....never liked Lott--but had a real respect for Breux. Time for WE THE PEOPLE to be heard...God help us.

I think this is illustrative of the fact that in reality, none of these politicians are any different at their core. Everything is relative in view of the Almighty Dollar.

Disgusting. These jack legs in Washington are not statesmen, they are politicians. Greedy and out for the buck. We once had at least a few up there that served for the best interest of this country. Unfortunately those days seem to be over. I have no confidence in the federal government.

THIS is why we need Term Limits AND bans from Lobbying once out of Office. Breaux, J Bennett Johnston and Billy Tauzin never came back to Louisiana when their careers were done in Washington, but they're Millionaires, along with their sons who are lobbyists too.

I think you get a bum rap around here, but this was a terrible post. Lobbying is the antithesis of capitalism. Lobbying is asking the government for favors instead of earning your keep in the free market.

What most like track miss is that lobbying is nothing more or less than a protection racket. While one side of this racket is "I give you A and you give me B" the other side is " here is A so don't mess with what I'm doing".
It will never go away as money/power is influence and influence is politics no matter the system.

Wrong. The problem is people are scum these days. No ethics, morality, or philosophy other than chasing dollars. And this comes from a pretty hard core capitalist.
