Can anyone elaborate on what gains were made through these acts? This sounds incredibly vague.

If I may be so bold, allow me to elaborate a bit. No way a Black conservative or libertarian gets that award.

Not to me. In some ways it is definitely encouraging to see that we as Society would vote for a person who isn't a white male, which we've only had previously.
I believe too big of a deal was made about it. If it's such a victory then it's not really a victory anymore. It's just normal life.
