You wont answer because you don't know., You can speculate, but you don't KNOW.

I suspect we will find out.

Once again, FY22-31. You do understand that the funds from the IRA were not distributed in lump sum, right? You do understand that President Trump signed an EO to freeze IRA disbursements, right? You do understand that would only be possible if the funds were not already disbursed and spent, right?

I'm not happy about it.

It should be at least 10x that many.

Federal Agencies do not leave funds unspent. They risk losing that funding in their warped way of doing things.

Yes they do. It’s the nature of having continuing resolutions every year because Congress fails to pass a full year budget before each fiscal year.

The result is they are limited to the prior year’s spending levels until they receive full year allotments, usually in March or April. They then try to spend what they can.

Their unspent funding is returned to the Treasury at the end of the fiscal year. That money then offsets the impact of budget cuts the following year.

Eliminate the IRS and the federal income tax and replace it with a consumption tax (VAT or tariffs)

Okay so what agency is tasked with administering, collecting, auditing, and enforcing your new consumption tax?

What will the new tax rate be? Will any good or services be exempt? If so, what goods and why?

You are leaving out a frick load of important details.

How often will the tax be remitted from the businesses tasked with collecting said tax?

Who will audit said businesses to ensure they are properly collecting and paying the tax?

What about poor and retired folks? Do they just get totally fricked by your new consumption plan given that this demo by and large consumes their entire incomes?

What I am getting at is a "consumption tax" is not some great panacea to all the issues you have with income tax and will quickly become just as complex as the income tax regime you despise so much.

Sure. What are you going to cut?

You are severely lacking in specificity or a real plan. This is nothing but talking points here.

This is no longer good advice, the majority of coding jobs will be the first to go to AI (this is already being tested). I feel bad for the people working on those projects, it's the ultimate "train your replacement" experience.

What is your solution?

End the IRS. We started this great nation without one. Abe started the first income tax so he could fund a war against his own people. Everyone seems to skip over that first letter "I", meaning internal

Walmart doesnt tax its own people to fund its operating expenses, it earns its money from those that want to do business with them. Our system is so backwards, that we give companies a waiver on taxes, so that they can do business. And they rake in trillions of profit

We long ago got into the business of govt choosing the winners and losers in business. You see that in DOGE now. Favored companies get funneled money from working Americans, in order for the govt to promote a backward funding mechanism

Or just simplify the code where its based on set percentages, or go to a VAT system. Which can be collected at the local (more manageable level), then funneled into the Treasury
