Basic food safety? China is the oldest country in the world. For 5,000 years China has occupied its borders as China.
Regardless what we like to say to belittle their culture, they've been around the block a time or two. I think they know how to cook food. Hell, they have some of the tastiest cuisine in the world. So much so that we have Chinese restaurants in every damn town in this country.

I’m sure every President in the modern era just assumed the CDC/Pentagon ran hundreds of simulations and had plans in place in case something like this happened. No President would know what to do because none of them are experts in this subject.

People lived to their 30s 5000 years ago because of unsafe food practices etc. China lets meat sit out without refridgeration, people walk the streets blowing snot out of their noses with a thumb blocking a nostril, and then they poke and prod the meat and produce.
Not going to talk about their treatment of feces.
There is a reason why every years flu strain originates in Chinese poultry flocks or pig herds. You know, swine flu or bird flu.

There is much about their culture to belittle. Most pandemics have originated in Asia. To pretend otherwise is asinine.
Bet the local Chinese restaurant you frequent doesn’t practice food handling like China does.

Oh by the way, ancient Chinese medicine has found a cure for covid. Mix 3 parts horse dung, 2 parts endangered rhino horn, to one part dog blood that has been beaten to death. Yes, you can find all of these in any Chinese city, but not your local Panda Express!
