For the no expectation of privacy in public crowd: Mandatory trackers on all cars? BUMP

Since many of us are against Flock cameras, and some here support them.
How about a compromise? Remove all the cameras but require mandatory tracking devices that must be activated before your car or truck will start. Since the government has a right to know where you are while in public (apparently). A mapping system could determine when you are on public areas.
Think of how much easier it would make things for police!

You run from police? Locked up for 15 years minimum. Rapists=dead. Most murderers (not crimes of passion)=dead or away for life.
Start taking real criminals off the streets and all of a sudden its a lot harder to justify police state tactics to the general population.
But the general population is too limp wristed to properly address criminality, so here we are, trying to decide which freedoms we should give up because we refuse to treat criminals like criminals and instead treat them like its our fault they're like that.

Not defending the flock cameras, but observing in public is a significant difference from tracking device.

No one is saying police can't have eyes. Put flock cameras on literally every public roadway and how is it any different from vehicle tracking devices?

That would work wonders when combined with a kill switch. That way the crooked sheriff can off his rival on some backroad eliminating the possibility of collateral damage.

Exactly. Also add - a comprehensive surveilance system like Flock is qualitatively different from a series of independently owned cameras as well. Which makes the systematic surveilance much more like a physical rracker because there is only 1 source from which a cop needs permission to search.

Go buy yourself a 2027 and get all of the tracking and auto shut off switches your little heart desires. You can thank our fricking useless DC bureaucrats for passing this into law as they were paid handsomely by the Auto, Insurance, and any other corporate entity that would pay to get data on you.
They don't give a shite either since most of them don't drive because they think they are so important that they have drivers to drive them around.
