I am nowhere near saying there is some sort of organized movement or anything like that. Just saying the taboo of saying stuff that we all are prone to think sometimes is less of a thing.
To be clear, I think the left has been doing this far longer and far more freely with things like bashing Christians.
I am also not inclined to believe there is anything organized about it in the military.
I guess it’s more a matter of EVERYONE is becoming more brazen in letting these things be part of normal discourse. We all have dark, ugly thoughts from time to time. It’s becoming less a thing to self-correct when we do.

In my 30+ years the only incident I can recall is we had a new soldier spouting a lot of extremist ideas. This was a reserve/national guard unit and he was gone by the end of the first day. We never saw or heard from him again.

I get what you’re saying. The left has been doing this a long time. All I’m saying is that I seem to hear it more from the right now. Still not nearly as blatant as the left, but I can’t deny it’s there.

Because there are also people who live there who are afraid of those gang bangers, hate the culture of the area, and are all for the police being there to help. They are prisoners of their own minds in thinking they have to stay there, but that’s another conversation.
Later this afternoon, I will be at an event right in the heart of our city’s version of this. Kids center trying to put them on better paths. Friend of mine runs it. Ex gang banger himself. Talks all the time about how much he has to work to deprogram these kids and get them to believe they can do more than go into hood life. Always strikes me how polite and respectful these kids are when they are there. Then they go home. (Which is not say they are always angels there. Plenty of fights, guns, etc. to deal with from time to time.)
My point: Nobody denies these places are broken, but there are lots of people inside them who are trying to make it better. We all know that the first step is getting out, which they can do, but an institutionalized mind is a hard thing to fix, and lumping them in with the true cancers is just not right.
