There's nothing dishonorable or unpatriotic about registering under FARA. We're all free to provide paid service to foreign entities, we just have to disclose it. I had an uncle who retired from the US Army as a brigadier and in the '80s he worked for the Brits on an evaluation team for what became the 2nd generation Challenger tank and later worked for, I think Jordan, in adapting it for desert service. He presumably registered for both gigs. (Due to odd circumstances he also led a cavalry unit in Charles and Diana's wedding procession.)
