Another Obama appointee in 2012. Here's the thing, he's only making the order effective for heavy laden spanish speaking counties. Some more pick and choose rulings by liberal judges.

quote:

A federal judge ordered 32 Florida counties to provide ballots in Spanish beginning next year, stating that failure to do so would be a violation of the Voting Rights Act.

The order was in the form of a preliminary injunction in a case brought by voters who were educated in Puerto Rico and are lacking proficiency in English, The Palm Beach Post reported.

"Compliance with this Order is not optional," Chief Judge Mark Walker of the Northern District of Florida Gainesville Division wrote in a Friday ruling. "This Court will not hesitate to use every tool the law provides to enforce this Order."

Judge Walker reportedly noted that Section 4(e) of the Voting Rights Act "prohibits English-only elections for those citizens — yes, citizens — educated in Puerto Rico in Spanish." (emphasis in original) Therefore, he ordered that the 32 counties in question must provide voters with ballots in Spanish starting with Florida's primary election scheduled for March 17, 2020.

You know what would stop all this? Requiring that they have ballots in Russian.

He has never been to Puerto Rico if he thinks they struggle with English.

The candidate names are the same in Spanish.

For referenda, the word "no" is the same in both languages and Puerto Ricans are fully aware that "Yes" means "Sí".

Logic fail. Understanding of English is requirement of citizenship. Citizenship is a requirement to vote. No foreign language accordance required.

By Any Means Necessary.

All logic goes out the window when dealing with Progressives.

You already have one in here defying it.

They need the votes. Better to get them from folks who are easier to brainwash.

I kid you not .... there are shite tons of Russians in Florida.

But they all speak English.

There are a lot of Muslims moving into there too .... construction industry related. Former Soviet satellite countries.

Florida is fricked, i’m trying hard to convince my baby girl and her husband to bring my grandbabies home and get outta there while they can. I get that their area down there in South Florida is super nice but it’s not going to be that way much longer in Florida.

While it may be a requirement for citizenship making English the de facto official language would nip shite like this in the bud.

Of course the Dems have fought that for decades as well.

People who go into the voting booth not already knowing exactly who they’re voting for for what office. And exactly what they’re voting for or against. Shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

Well that's debatable I'd bet. If they can read a tax form and pay their taxes then they sure as hell ought to be able to read a ballot wouldn't you think?

Should know how you're voting before you get there.

And those are typically written in legalese anyway.
