As long as it doesn't violate any fair housing laws, It's probably permissible in a lease.

There's no chance "take any vaccines I determine you should take" was in these leases.

Unvaccinated for Covid is not a protected class. It doesn't matter if you want it to be protected.

A lease is a contract between two people. If you don't the terms, don't sign the lease. The terms are voidable or unenforceable if they violate a housing law or some other overriding public policy.

Is it a stupid lease provision? Yes, sounds stupid to me. Are private leases full of stupid provisions? Yes, I've seen very stupid provisions in private leases.

Right wingers obviously don't believe in freedom to contract. Freedom to contract also includes freedom to put stupid provisions in contracts.

Umm, that will not fly. They have a lease. Unless it is in the lease that tenants must be vaccinated, then they can tell him to get fricked.

My case in point. You were all in on eviction moratoriums and now you support this. It must suck having no true convictions.

The problem with your statement is that I've never written any "extreme leftist" positions and never expressed any support for eviction moratoriums. You just lie about me to create a fake strawman.

Take a dip in paint thinner if this doesn't apply to you. I'm talking about the boomer that does the shite mentioned in the OP or the boomer that gets a reverse mortgage on their $700k house so they can buy an RV and leave no inheritance to their children and grand children.

They don't have to leave shite to them.

Let me guess, bluebonnet towers?

And if Florida is anything like Louisiana he doesn’t have to give a reason to not renew a resident, he just has to do it in writing in the stated time frame. It will be interesting to see what happens, though.

This was a house on N. 6th Street, off of Spanish Town Road. Landlord was an old dude, holy roller, who only leased to young, single women, and had at least a half dozen morality provisions in his crazy lease.

That article is poorly written. If he's trying to boot out people still in the middle of their contract, I would be shocked if he had a vacc clause in there.

All of that being said, not a huge fan of DeSantis using executive orders for this type of stuff, have the legislature make a law.

I don’t see any problem for him to do this going forward. It’s his rental, he can rent to whomever he wants imo.

However, evicting people that are already in an agreement is a whole different ballgame. And he’ll likely go to court and lose. Especially in Florida
