“While we are fighting to cut taxes and make it harder for politicians to raise taxes in Florida, Louisiana is doing the exact opposite. In fact, for nearly two years, Gov. John Bel Edwards has been continuously working to raise taxes instead of reaching a long-term solution for their state’s financial crisis," Scott said in a news release. "With no income tax, a low business tax and a business-friendly environment, Florida is the perfect location for Louisiana business owners and families who want to keep more of their hard-earned money."

Damn. JBE owned.

Even if it is just a political move, I like it - it highlights just how backwards LA is compared to more prosperous states like Florida.

Well Rick Scott isn't wrong at all.

JBE refuses to understand that you can't tax you way out of budget holes into prosperity and you can't keep attacking the largest sources of private employment with frivolous lawsuits, red tape and high taxes that nullifies any investment they could make here in Louisiana.

JBE raising taxes send more of our businesses and children out of the state.

Is this your definition of Honor Code?

There are reasons why Louisianians leave in droves for places like Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas. JBE is prime example of why.

The longer the Louisiana economy keeps staying in the shitter and he keeps asking for more high taxes and keeps suing private companies, the worse off his reelection prospects get.

Looks like we going to repeat the 80s where the country prospered and Louisiana was grounded.

If he does, I may just take a huge loss and start over somewhere else.

I'm pretty confident he won't but still it depends on a few factors.

The LA GOP having a great candidate that can prevent JBE from getting enough of those same republicans that elected him last time.

Making sure we don't have ankle biters like Dardenne and Angelle trashing the GOP front runner beyond recognition to the point where he can't consolidate the conservative base in the runoff against JBE.

Staying on the constant attack against JBE and not letting him sneak into the runoff uncontested like Vitter so foolishly did last time.

Which brand of bullshite will Louisiana voters buy into this time?

Can JBE recycle his "West Point Honor Code" line another 47,000 times?

Or will John Kennedy's "aw shucks" style beat him out.

If he’s re-elected, I’m moving. I hope there is a mass exodus and the democrats don’t have enough money to supply the freebies to their base. That would be funny watching all the idiots riot and tear their neighborhoods up

States should have as much power as possible (relative to the feds) and compete amongst themselves as strenuously as possible.

We have 50 separate labs to find what works.

Every time Rick Perry traveled to California when he was the Texas Governor, Arnold hated it because Perry would always return home with 1-2 relocations.

Scott is doing essentially the same thing (except he's getting business to move TO a state with nice sandy beaches instead of FROM one).

Very true. I've noticed a lot of job openings in Florida even some in my career field in Orlando. I would have no problem relocating from working in Baton Rouge and living in the LP to working and living in Orlando.
