I think marrying your 1st cousin is wrong but on the other hand we have legalized gay marriage. Wha't more disgusting, two dudes getting hitched or two cousins of the opposite sex getting hitched?

I think statistically when first cousins marry and it’s the first generation there isn’t a much higher chance of abnormalities in children than with unrelated couples. It’s slightly higher at 5-7% compared to 3-4% in normal couples. However if several generations of cousins continue to marry the risks steadily increase. This is why in places like rural Appalachia there were a lot of genetic mutations, isolated people who never moved away for generations were all related and inter married

Brother-sister has a high risk for genetic disorders.

2nd cousins and further are not statistically higher for disorders than unrelated couples.

This is awesome news...... if you want to end up like England.

Florida has a growing Muslim population, with estimates typically ranging from over 127,000 to over 700,000, according to local council estimates. The community is diverse, with roughly 69% of members having origins in countries like Pakistan, India, Egypt, and Palestine, and about 31% being U.S.-born. Major hubs include Orlando and Tampa, with over 150 mosques state-wide.

I had no idea. I believe our church bells make louder and sweeter sounds than their prayer calls.

I read recently that Pakistani’s make up about 2.5% of the UK population and have about 30% of the recessive genetic disorders in England. They marry first cousins in England about 75% of the time. When you are talking about tens of millions of people an extra couple of percentage points makes a difference.

Don’t most places have some kind of caveat that it’s legal to wed but not reproduce?

This is one area where some diversity is a good thing.

Well the upside is Florida will produce more banjo players and maybe another pedophile president
