Yea it’s one of the few issues that is probably a 90/10 issue.
It feels dirty agreeing with filthy liberals but it is what it is.

The story I saw, Flock didn’t even correctly match the stolen plate to the car. It was an error so simple that it appeared purposeful.
It matched only 80% of the license plate and was identifying multiple cars as stolen with that 80% match.
Would Flock purposefully mess up their data and collection to increase their usage?

Are you familiar with the constitution? The problem with Flock, a private company creating a warrantless database that any officer can check at any time is they can single out an individual and then hunt for any crime. Ever speed? Every Jaywalk? Every do anything that might be fine worthy or against the law if you somehow offend a police officer? Good luck comrade. The if you have done nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about is how we got the patriot act.

It's funny that this entire fiasco was cause by stupid fricking New Jersey putting two digits of their license plate number at a font half the size of the other numbers on the plate - for no reason.
Also, I am surprised that such effort was put out to find a potentially stolen car.

Imagine if this event had been based on a violent crime with the misinformation saying the suspect was armed and dangerous.

It was due to New Jersey having a weird license plate format for manufacturer plates. The middle two digits were a smaller font than the rest of the number, so Flock just didn't read those number. So any plate that had the first two numbers and the last three numbers was reported as stolen. So multiple plates were reported stolen.

The real story here is humans were negligent in manually entering false data into a crime reporting system. Humans filed a false report.
During any era of time and technology, humans tasked with using false information to identify a suspect would still lead to the same outcome.

This has happened before cameras and AI, mistaken identity is as old as identity.
Happened to a friend of mine years ago. Cops tossed him to the ground for the crime of driving a truck similar to a stolen truck.
