Until 5 years ago, the US had only 1 full shot of the sunlit face of earth...

This was not widely known...there are hundreds of examples where they published an image and failed to disclose it was artist's image or stitched together

My favorite was the Jupiter image of their aurora, then they had to go back and say it was stitched together...
It's a sweet intel play, show something obviously fake, then go back and put disclaimers on images saying, "it was obviously fake, but we'll put disclaimers just in case"

Why the heck does a government agency play these games...oh yeah, while the left is out there looking for Nazis amongst norms conservatives, NASA was actually run by them for 30 years...

They legit believe the earth is flat. They are mostly comprised of people who believe the Bible claims the earth is flat and claim to be Christian. Upon inspection, they really lack biblical knowledge, don’t seem Christian at all in doctrine or practice, and also believe in a bunch of other silly superstitious nonsense. I’ll get downvotes for this, but I expect they have quite a lot of overlap with Q tards.

I've read a little about these guys and they believe (those that do believe) there is a giant ice wall at the edge of the disc that keeps the water in...begs the question of how they view global warming and what it means for our ocean retention wall?

As to the OP, it started as a troll and then it became a honey-pot for morons and the mentally unstable.

No victim here. Just fascinated by the regulars on here who have Q living rent-free in their heads. We've got about a dozen folks who display an exceptional talent for being the first ones in a thread to invoke Q or the Q thread when it has no direct connection, otherwise. (Spoiler Alert - They're not QT regulars, either. Not any longer, at any rate).

All for a LARP.

So... if the earth is indeed flat, what's on the other side?

And also, if it is flat, could you go to the deepest part of the ocean, start drilling, come out the other side and accidentally drain it?

You are reading a lot into a single sentence. I’ve mentioned Q maybe 3 times in all of my post history. I thought it had mostly died out tbh, because like flat earth, I don’t keep up with any of it. The demo similarities are there though which is why I mentioned it.

I never said you were one of the usual suspects. It merely underscored the point that outside of the QT, it's the boo-birds and/or those not fully abreast of the details who tend to inject Q into otherwise non-Q topics.

This is how NASA explains it.

Many people believe that Earth is closer to the sun in the summer and that is why it is hotter. And, likewise, they think Earth is farthest from the sun in the winter.

Although this idea makes sense, it is incorrect.

It is true that Earth’s orbit is not a perfect circle. It is a bit lop-sided. During part of the year, Earth is closer to the sun than at other times. However, in the Northern Hemisphere, we are having winter when Earth is closest to the sun and summer when it is farthest away! Compared with how far away the sun is, this change in Earth's distance throughout the year does not make much difference to our weather.

There is a different reason for Earth's seasons.

Earth's axis is an imaginary pole going right through the center of Earth from "top" to "bottom." Earth spins around this pole, making one complete turn each day. That is why we have day and night, and why every part of Earth's surface gets some of each.

Earth has seasons because its axis doesn't stand up straight.

But what caused the earth to tilt?

Long, long ago, when Earth was young, it is thought that something big hit Earth and knocked it off-kilter. So instead of rotating with its axis straight up and down, it leans over a bit.
By the way, that big thing that hit Earth is called Theia. It also blasted a big hole in the surface. That big hit sent a huge amount of dust and rubble into orbit. Most scientists think that that rubble, in time, became our Moon.
As Earth orbits the sun, its tilted axis always points in the same direction. So, throughout the year, different parts of Earth get the sun’s direct rays.

I mean all the flat earthers have to do is pony up some cash and launch a satellite with a camera and take a pic. Then they will know.

The Netflix documentary about flat earthers is super interesting

They’re all pretty sad and isolated individuals who sorta found this weird community in denying the earth being round.

One even admits he is way to far in to ever turn back even if it was proven to him beyond a doubt.

Strongly recommend. It is an amazing study in human psychology

They do some crazy shite...the guy that died in the rocket was trying to do that...well, to see for himself...

But you have to be at least a couple hundred thousand feet up for the human eye to see the curve (some eyes could detect it much lower, like 125k)

They also tried to fly a jet over the south pole but were denied...they wanted to circumnavigate the globe pole to pole...

So, their efforts are -worthy, but there are just too many measurables for a normal dude...

I will say this, Polaris is higher in the sky on Guam, I measured it at (over) 15 degrees from the north side of Andersen AFB...BUT, NGT summed it up pretty well with the explanation that the earth is "pear-shaped"---

It's not actually a pear but slightly not a sphere with a fatter warble to the south and thinner warble to the north

Note my measurement was a little over a degree off, which is just greater than 1/360th of true North, so it is fair to say I caught Polaris on the high side of it's swirl in the North point as well as the pear shape contributing.

At the time it was just shite I looked at because on open sea it's easy to look at and measure...

the southern cross was cool to see as well, and is a major factor in disproving a "natural" flat earth...now their crazy arse localized digital matrix theory...uh...nah fam
