those savings for stock buybacks and dividends to shareholders.
This is a bad thing?
On top of that there is a chance they'll choose to invest in USA since the corp tax rate will not be competitive globally.

Outright claiming those savings will trickle down to the lower and middle class is not based on any real facts though
Economics works..........always. In fact, it doesn't just work, it's undefeated.

Um.................uh.......Oh, nevermind. It's fricking hopeless.
I'd rather go teach physics to 3rd graders. It would be easier.

Honestly, this country is fricking hopeless. We are a nation of financial morons.
It's like people don't even have passing familiarity with basic financial actions and terms.

My point is that the corp. reduction will have a much bigger effect on the economy and individuals than the changes to the individual rate will have on individuals.
While I, and many others not on the left, agree, that's a hard sell to any person a millimeter left of center.
I'm sure you don't care much, but if we're to convince any lefties that this bill isn't the end of the world, keeping it simple and telling them they'll save $2,000/year is the way to go IMO.

can be done but pretty much requires everything break their way because they are having to play so much defense this cycle.
I didn't think they could win in Alabama, and I know that's a special case, but its goes to show they are motivated based on reactions to that race.

Something we agree on...

I didn't imply it was. Those things don't always trickle down to lower and middle class individuals though.
Posted on 12/19/17 at 3:34 pm to BamaAtl
So BamaAtl claims the bill is a tax hike on more than 50% of families on page one and hasn’t posted again 5 pages later.
So pathetic.
So pathetic.

False.
I mean, look. I get it. It's now an article of faith among liberals that what you said is a proven thing.
And, I already know from experience, that it's impossible to explain to a financial illiterate why it literally CANNOT be true.
But, yeah. It can't.

It's not a tax cut, it's a tax increase on >50% of families.
I recall a time immediately after Charlottesville when you claimed ANTIFA wasn't present and had nothing to do with the violence, and I thought to myself, this guy couldn't get any dumber if he tried.
I guess I was wrong
Get some help my friend. Its borderline unhealthy to be as detached from reality as you are.

It's not a tax cut, it's a tax increase on >50% of families

Just making shite up at this point.
Pathetic.
Pathetic.

Reagan knew how to build bridges. Trump doesn’t. Getting zero dem votes is as much a reflection on Trump as its is their own political point of view.
No it isn't
Reagan couldn't get any of these modern day democrats to vote for his agenda either.
Furthermore Reagan couldn't have won with in todays climate with his calling out the national guard on Berkley.
I personally think Reagan was a much better man and a whole lot smarter/polished than Trump but in the fricked up world we live in today I don't think Reagan could have survived the media onslaught.

As frustrating as it is, at least Republicans have dissenting opinions and layers of complexity within the party. (i.e. even with just this tax bill, with repealing Obamacare, etc.)
I'd rather dissenting opinions to make sure proposals are looked at from different angles and different nuances are worked out. And then at worse, nothing happens which is better than just ramming something through just because your party proposed it. (*cough Obamacare cough*)
The lock-step voting is currently all Dems, but yet they are the one that scream "we need to come together!" "we need to reach across the asile!"

You know how I know you are wrong? Because 50% of families don't pay a frickin' cent of Federal Taxes.

You can't....it's an outright lie
From the JCT report:
quote:
On average in 2027, taxes would rise modestly for the lowest-income group, change little for middle-income groups, and decrease for higher-income groups. Compared to current law, 9 percent of taxpayers would pay more in 2019, 12 percent in 2025, and 50 percent in 2027.
Just because you're an ignorant adherent to a fool's ideology doesn't mean that other people aren't capable of math, jackass.
