I think there have been 9 named storms this year and maybe 3 of them would have never been named 10-15 years ago.
I went through 5 hurricanes when living in New Iberia...starting with Audry in 1957. There was no such thing as a 'named storm.' It got a name when it became a full blown hurricane. If the trend continues they will start naming storms when it rains and the wind is over 30 mph.

I like to think they got confused this year with Gulf of America and took a wrong turn.

Grok still says it’s already been a record setting season and to expect a lot more activity.

Well don’t get me wrong, the technology to observe and measure the weather today is so much better than it’s ever been. I’m just talking about the early season “storms” that are in the north Atlantic and are moving out to sea and will clearly dissipate in a day or 2. They get names now and they shouldn’t. I know they may technically reach the criteria of a storm but it’s just a wasted name.

Those storms know trump will nuke them if they enter gulf of America

USAID cut off the weather machine. They had enough juice to pull the lever days ago --for a hard try Cat5--to try to punish red states.

Hurricanes were funded by USAID

Just bumping this because the Kerry storm is exactly what I was talking about. In no “hurricane” world should this thing be named. It’s not even a “tropical” system. It’s just a North Atlantic storm.
