First reparations experiment crashes and burns as recipients demand more

"To qualify for the reparations program, an individual must be the descendants of residents that lived in Evanston between 1919-1969 and/or evidence that they had faced racial disparities. Racial harm deserving of repair did not begin or end in those windows of time," the statement read.
Even with the $25,000, it noted, "residents would still need a large influx of cash for any down payment and have good credit to secure any mortgage from banks. The forces that had been historically benefiting from the racist policies of redlining and housing discrimination are now benefiting from a program aimed at undoing their harm."
"ALL Black residents of Evanston have been exposed to racism and are owed repair, but creators of the program say the limited impact of the current proposal is because of the size of the fund," the statement continued.
"However, this only reinforces our claim that the proposed program is incomplete and deserves more community involvement. The lack of community input has resulted in a reparations plan that would be detrimental to Black people and the larger movement.
"We have come together as residents to fight against fake reparations. We reject racist reparations and demand a better, more responsive, more complete program that provides access to reparations acts of actual repair to Black folks. "

People wanting more money from the government isn’t a failure to the Marxist left.

It will never be enough.
Like trying to dry the ocean.
It could be 10,000,000 a year for life and the reparations crew would remain unsatisfied.

They aren't owed anything. So weak and pathetic.

No surprise. Evanston and the western Chicago suburbs all around it (we lived in Glen Ellyn which is right next to Evanston) is not a cheap place to live, in general. Housing is $$$$ and $25K is great but doesn't go too far when you're looking at a minimum of $350K for a decent house.

This shite right here? Exactly why it will never work.
Giving money to people who don’t know how to manage it only results in them demanding more because there is obviously more to hand out if they are getting it.

The ONLY people who have been exposed to BLATANT F*CKING UNCONSTITUTIONAL RACISM in Evanston over the LAST 55 F*CKING YEARS is any WHITE or ASIAN person who applied to Northwestern University.

No one living today deserves it, period. I don't think I have ever witnessed a weaker group of people. How about instead of demanding money for something you didn't experience, go out and earn it. Funny how some seem to make it just fine without crying for money.

Which is partly why black people born here tend to HATE any black immigrants from the Caribbean or Africa who come over here.
Because they tend to thrive and show that the problem isn’t with white people being racist against blacks. It tends to be black people having a “crab bucket” mentality to where they don’t want anyone else to succeed if they can’t.

Ain't that the truth. It's really pathetic. A systemic pattern of blaming failures on everyone but who truly causes it, themselves.

So a really easy target to hit.
Interesting to see people prove qualifications are the same people unable to get a driver's license or even connect to the internet

Evanston, Illinois, could be the first city in the United States to give reparations to its black residents. The reasoning behind it, according to Newsweek, is that it's a way to make amends for the city's past redlining policies, along with other housing discrimination initiatives that existed until about a half-century ago. According to NBC News, Evanston passed a fair housing ordinance in 1969.
Have the source for reparations changed from slavery to just anything racial?

Yes, I did. And then once they got it, then they would say it's not enough and demand more. Haven't you ever watched the movies that involve a ransom or blackmail? It never ends with first payout. Thanks where it starts.
