You saw him during the debate. He can't even wipe his own arse let alone do anything that resembles work. His handlers ( the shadow government) take care of his responsibilities.

As a retired economics professor and current financial guru and economist i want to know how you blame a recession that started in March of 2000 on Bush who was inaugurated in 2001?

These people who blame this stuff on so and so Republicans never check the dates, do they?

He parrots a CNN talking point and then just happened to run into a guy who was studying policy while he was still trying to color inside the lines.. It's unfortunate but I understand that he wants to feel like this is an accurate representation of how he feels. I don't blame him completely for his views. At least he's listening which is more than 80% of the population

More correlated with a Republican House than any President.

I'm genuinely curious about where he took economic courses and whether they were theory based and what school of economics they were taught under. Also what school he subscribes to. I'm actually curious.

Probably a school or schools heavily influenced by the Dept. Of Ed.
This sounds way too much like their historical revisioning.
Sounds like activist professors, too.
He's not the only one tho. There's a lot of the later millennials and Gen z that have things all screwed around backwards.

At best, it's a problem from the intellectual and academic communities.
As I posted back on another comment, they're literally lying about history to these students, from an activist viewpoint.
And since kids have no idea what really happened, they don't know it for the lie.

But yeah. I'm glad to see that he's at least paying attention.

He's asking questions and seems willing to listen to other ideas so I'm obligated to give him credit for that. It takes balls to do that in this political environment where people will go down with the ship just to try to be right. I was told by my first economics teacher that "I don't have a monopoly on every good idea. Listen to others and take what you learn and apply it theoretically at a minimum and see if things change.". I've tried to do that every step of my career.

Bill Clinton was responsible for not one but two recessions. One was the dot.com.bubble that he allowed and let burst as he was leaving office. Two was the repeal of Glass-Steagall Act in 1998 that was a poison pill that exploded 10 years later. I was in mortgage banking back then and had a front row seat to all of it.

Some of you kids need to learn some history that many of us lived through.

That's putting it mildly. There were economists arguing that we'd hit a recession, and Democrats said we weren't.
A vast majority of it was because Obama created insane high gas prices. So he could come along and then "fix" it, by releasing some of the federal reserves.

President's discuss the stock market often. If an economic event has the potential to cause great financial harm. Then yes. He should have made a speech about keeping things in perspective instead of investing in ballsacks.com at 400 dollars per share. The President is in charge of keeping citizens safe. He chose not to say 1 word about an impending economic bubble that the fricking fed chairman even knew was coming
Ridiculous. If Clinton had arrogated to "warn" people about stocks, I can only imagine the vitriol that would have been thrown his way.

On top of that, the POTUS SHOULD NOT be doing any such thing.

I respect this. People need to be ok saying they don't know everything. Especially this fricking board.

So party and legacy before people, right? That’s not leadership and I am not even a conservative.

Clinton’s massive ego and refusal to acknowledge anything that would make him look bad or “tarnish” his presidency took precedent over what was best for the country and policy.

Hell, the man literally murdered innocent civilians in Iraq to distract from his impeachment. Do you think he cared about what was best for American interests with that?

Both parties cause issues with their stupidity, but recessions generally follow catastrophes in economics or other ways.

Carter dealt with the oil embargo and hostage situations. His decisions didn’t always help, but the man was given way to much blame for things out of his hand, and particularly for many bad decisions in policy from Nixon/Ford.

Bush dealt with one of the worst stock market crashes/busts because of Clinton’s administrations misdeeds. Then dealt with the ramifications of 9/11 8 months into his job. Bush was awful and made things worse with how the invaded Iraq, but he was already starting from a place of weakness with consequences of the previous admin’s decisions.

I hate Trump, but numerous decisions under Obama and his cronies (particularly Clinton as SOS) put the country in vulnerable positions. Add in COVID which was entirely out of Trumps hands and you can blame what was a roaring economy for coming to a screeching halt after that.

Biden actually found a way to make things so bad that we now think it is a great economy when inflation is only 4%.

All of them suck and none of them give a shite about the average American including Trump. They only care about taking care of their own and their legacies. You will see this with Trump again.

The “Great Recession” was the result of the housing collapse, which was fueled by sub-prime mortgages that were taken out by people who could not afford them after a hiccup in employment. The rule change was leftist policies implemented by the Clinton Administration.

Whoa. I’m a late Gex X and I don’t think I have anything in common with millennials or later generations. The first presidential election I remember watching was Reagan when I was 6 years old. Clinton’s 1st term was the first time I was eligible to vote. I clearly remember those times.

The COVID recession was caused by Democrat governors, and some GOP governors, that shut their states down. I live in SoDak. We didn't shut down. We prospered during that time.

That wasn't Trump. He wanted to return to normal ASAP, but the media and Dems painted him as a murderer for wanting to do that.
