I find it hard to fault him for wanting loyalty when his first administration stabbed him in the back so much. It’s hard to be an effective leader when you are being undermined at every turn.

Only the best people, folks

A second Trump admin will be full of incompetents.
This can’t be overstated. Trump’s first term was marked by chaos, rampant resignations, and failure to move any policy that wasn’t as easy as signing an executive order.
If elected, who’s going to work for him? It’ll be a clown show of pathetic sycophants in way over their heads.

This take is awful. His first term was a literal big tent, and the pressure from the media, SC, and dems caused many to stab him in the fricking back.
But let’s be honest here. You’d bitch no matter what he did.

Because he cant hire competency to save his own life.
He continually stocks his cabinet with lightweights who can be bought off. You dont need loyalty, you need integrity.

This thread is silly. Trump can't just get anyone he wants to serve in his administration. To have a chance he has to have a republican majority in the senate. And that might not be good enough.

Imagine that, a POTUS wants loyalty.

I would never want to be around anyone who backs down. Especially if they promise they wont

You and I both judge people by the things they have done. He hired poorly last time. You know it too.

Oh great so Jared and Ivanka and the Israel lobby will have an office next to the Presidential suite again? Zion Don doing Zionist things.
If they are getting peace deals signed again among Israel and Muslim countries.. why the hell not.
I mean… what could be worse?

Just saying its hard but I would absolutely err on the side of integrity over loyalty.
Loyalty just guarantees you will see the problem in one dim light.

He made a few bad hires for sure. Especially Wray. But all presidents do. Case in point, Klepto tranny, Myorkas, or Habash. Throw KBJ in there too.
I don’t really fault him for the back stabbers, which were truly the big problem for him. I understand and appreciate what he tried to do with his staff, and after all the betrayal, I get why he doesn’t want to make those mistakes again.

quote:That is not true. His business acumen would militate against that statement. The problem isn’t competency but corruption (integrity, as you put it)

Like I said: he was stabbed in the back so much that it shouldn’t be a surprise that he would look for people who would be on the same page as him and would support his administration. Ultimately that’s what any President wants: someone who will execute his vision for leadership according the principles that he adheres to. Officials that go rogue and act against the wishes of their boss undermine the authority and leadership of that boss and make it difficult to lead.

Too many people don't fault him for anything at all. Who's responsible for his hires if not him?
