One of the lefts biggest talking points about Trump was how often he lied. Even at one point throwing out some ridiculous number.

Now you see what an administration that proudly and boastfully lies every single day actually looks like.
It's almost like all politicians are lying every time they speak.

I laugh at these pretend lawyers arguing w bbonds

They argue against actual case law. Yet, when I asked for one single case in support of their argument…crickets

Very telling

Read the cases. He has final word. No question. Decatur posted a link to one of them in this thread.

Yeah and I pointed out that they don’t apply here. Trump can claim documents that contain NDI are his until he is blue in the face but that doesn’t change the status.

He actually can. And it is likely not even subject to judicial review. Though that part isn’t as clear. Per uncontested court precedent (Armstrong and the Clinton tapes case).

From JW v NARA

quote:

The PRA authorizes NARA to invoke the same enforcement mechanism embodied in the Federal Records Act, which begins with a request to the Attorney General to institute an action for the recovery of missing records. Compare 44 U.S.C. § 2112(c) with 44 U.S.C. § 3106. The statute does not mandate that NARA invoke this enforcement scheme but rather vests complete discretion with the agency to utilize that mechanism. 44 U.S.C. § 2112(c) (“When the Archivist considers it to be in the public interest, he may . . . .” (emphasis added). The Archivist has chosen to invoke the mechanism in the past when it deemed such action appropriate. See, e.g., United States v. McElvenny, No. 02-3027, 2003 WL 1741422 (S.D.N.Y. April 1, 2003) (seeking recovery of a map of Cuba annotated by President John F. Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis).

He allowed them to come and take whatever they wanted. They had unfettered access.

I assume you aren’t referring to the search of MAL pursuant to the search warrant. But this isn’t an accurate description of anything that came before that.

Honest question… do you think that the way they are going after trump is warranted? Why is he such a threat to the democratic party?

They gave him every opportunity to comply before searching MAL. All of this is on Trump.

You didn’t answer the question

Do you think he is a danger to our country and if so, why?

Well I’m not privy to the identification of each document he absconded with. What do you expect me to say?

Yeah, those Crossfire Hurricane documents that the FBI wants to keep hidden are a real "security breach" exposing their dirty criminal arses.

How about - these are some of the same people in the FBI leaking to the same reporters what could be overblown lies like we have seen countless times over the last six years. Maybe we should wait before we get hysterical AGAIN with our extreme case of TDS.

You know what is telling about you? You only have Trump in your life. That is the only thing in this world that matters to you. Is Trump. You have nothing else going for you than Trump. Why do you leftists never accomplish for yourselves? Why don't you ever defend any of your policies? Why is the ONLY TIME you comment on the poli-board now, is when it comes to Trump?

Secondly, stop pretending like you know anything about declassification. You are simply regurgitating what some other NPC on DU posted on here. It is PAINFULLY obvious.

Decatur is too busy thinking of ways to drop in denigrating phrases like "absconded with" because Decatur is a supporter of the fascist pigs that infest our government

and hopefully pays dearly for such treachery in time

Hey I just want to discuss the subject matter of this thread. And that was going pretty well. No need to make it all about me.

This entire fiasco has already imploded on the current admin. as well as the FBI. It'll linger another week or so, and they'll move onto something else.

As hard as they try, they'll never "get him".
