I'm surprised nobody has posted this yet.
If it has, my bad.

So what happens now? Does the DOJ have recourse?

quote:

A federal judge on Monday quashed grand jury subpoenas issued to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and other Minnesota officials.

US District Judge Patrick Schiltz, a George W. Bush appointee said the subpoenas were retaliatory.

The Justice Department in January issued subpoenas to Governor Tim Walz, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and other far-left Minnesota officials.

The DOJ previously launched a criminal investigation into Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and far-left Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey for interfering with ICE operations.

Well yeah, they can appeal the ruling to the appellate level.

How can a judge overrule the DOJ?

Same fricktard judge that issued all the anti-ICE orders that ultimately got struck down.

They can appeal. In the meantime, the targets know what the DOJ is looking for and is deleting and destroying all of it.

Maybe Im just a simple minded ole baw, but it surely seems like the DOJ/FBI could find folks who are without a doubt guilty and threaten max penalties or their cooperation.....
Or have I've watched too many movies??

If there’s enough evidence to convene a grand jury, why does it matter if the investigation is considered retaliatory?

Can Walz now get away with any federal crime without worry?

Yeah, what is the retaliation for?

Not losing by enough in the 2024 election?

“President Trump has repeatedly insulted Minnesota generally and its Somali population in particular; targeted Democratic-led cities for expanded deportation efforts;3 asserted that Democratic officials who oppose the deployment of National Guard troops for immigration enforcement should be jailed; issued multiple executive orders threatening to cut off federal funding to “sanctuary” jurisdictions;5 and sued Minnesota and some of its political subdivisions seeking to invalidate state and local provisions limiting assistance to federal immigration officials,” the judge said.

This judge sounds emotional.

Could it be that Democrat-led cities were in fact, those cities that sought to hinder if not outright stop Federal law enforcement from doing it’s job - enforcing federal immigration laws?

Good lord, with “rulings” like this no wonder Democrats have settled into thinking they are beyond accountability.

Trump has had some losers appointed to the bench under his presidency but I think the bench appointments between Bush I/Bush II and Obammy completely fricked us.....for a long time.

That is a very scary emotional response without any actual legal analysis of the subpoena.

I’m going to get on Trump’s radar and hopefully be the subject of some mean tweets. That’s when my interstate bank robbing spree begins.

Y’all know why he doesn’t stop to explain every detail of every action (or lack thereof), in every situation? All due respect, but there’s really no other reasonable way to put it: Trump believes it would be a waste of time explaining things to people who have already demonstrated an unlikelihood of understanding it regardless. IMO it’s a pretty good time management approach.

Obviously wrong judicial rulings are just so common now that no one is surprised.

They should all be required to testify about the criminality of the fraud in Minnesota. They are the ones in charge.

I’m no lawyer but this coming from a judge with what we know and what has already been proven and prosecuted is why so many don’t trust the judicial branch when judges go on emotional tyrades to justify themselves.
