Finally a loss for the democrats here

quote:

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A federal appeals court on Sunday temporarily halted a six-day extension for counting absentee ballots in Wisconsin’s presidential election, a momentary victory for Republicans and President Donald Trump in the key presidential battleground state.

As it stands, ballots will now be due by 8 p.m. on Election Day. A lower court judge had sided with Democrats and their allies to extend the deadline until Nov. 9. Democrats sought more time as a way to help deal with an expected historic high number of absentee ballots.

I want everyone who wants to vote to vote. But this huge window without providing a good reason is ridiculous. I’m sorry.

The constant back and forth for respective wins are what will send these issues to SCOTUS.

What should be common sense feels like a victory.

I think Trump would have won Wisconsin anyways, but this makes it easier.

Not an easy road to the WH for Biden without Wisconsin.

could this wind up being precedent setting?

another court ruled in the opposite direction; that means this HAS to go to SCOTUS - right?

Even if it goes to SCOTUS, that would be days/weeks after the election, right?

SCOTUS can rule that only ballots received by election day can be accepted, but democrats will have been counting for days still at that point already.

That’s great news . We need the same ruling for all states.once the polls close they should not be able to accept anymore mail in ballots .

For the 7th Circuit, which covers Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana....I believe so.

Finally some common sense. This loose vote by mail is a bunch of crap.

In Oregon to register to vote you provide your address and Drivers License number, get a ballot 3 weeks out, and ballot must be in my election day...nothing wrong with that setup IMO.

WI will go Trump. Not be a large margin because of the libtards in Madison, WI, but the rural area mostly Trump signs. It'll come down to turnout.

Isn’t it telling that the media runs with extended deadlines are a win for the Democrats?

I wonder why?

This was a motion to stay the district court order, although it is still important because it is unlikely the 7th Cir. will rule on the appeal before the election. What other decision are you referring to? There have been several stays of district court orders issued in election cases this year.

This decision is just common sense. It is also racist discrimination against the African American voters in Wisconsin cemeteries.
