Any one-off tariff related consumer price increase decreases demand.
Did you read the study in OP?
The costs of tariffs lead to unemployment when then deflates prices.
Which, again, is the literal opposite of the stated goal of increasing employment domestically by "bringing manufacturing back"

AdamAss doesnt get it does he. There are ways to reduce unemployment.
You know... bring businesses back. Getting rid of illegal immigration.. etc.
You might just wake up 1 day. I doubt it... but praying for you.

SDV is in here literally arguing this

Which would then cause inflation of prices

Nope. Just what you want to happen. Not reality.
We went through this all the way back in 2016-18. Facts are not on your side.

Maybe as I have never been there. My grandfather was born and raised in Riffle. I have many pictures from days past and it once was beautiful. Colorado has gone libtard and that will bring on ugliness. It is a shame.

Manufacturing increases do not happen in months. You know this but still blow the trumpet as loud as you can. There will be tough times in order to bring on better times.

Couldn't care less.
Any more than I would if a "study" correctly observed the sky as blue, and then attributed the blue color to gay fairy pixie dust sprinkled in contrails. The sky is still blue.
Tariffs are are identical in economic effect to corporate taxes. Except, unlike corporate taxes, tariffs are at least somewhat absorbed internationally.

Then how will we bring manufacturing back to the US, if prices don't increase
You answered your own question
Prices dont increase, so the board asks "where can we trim fat?"
Welllllllll, if we move manufacturing back to the US, guess what? We save x% on tariffs. Every shipment. Profit!!
But you knew that
Unless you actually think companies lower prices when they offshore, rather than pocketing the savings?

What you're arguing isn't what the OP study is discussing.
The employment issues causing the projected deflation aren't because of a gap in infrastructure building. It's from the negative economic outcomes from tariffs themselves, directly.

Prices dont increase
If they don't, the employment won't follow.
If the employment doesn't follow, then prices will deflate (which is the argument in OP).

Been seeing people copy and past that same “email from my supplier” since about February. Please, take that AI bullshite elsewhere.
No, you haven’t seen that. Because it was just sent on Wednesday and I don’t lie. I’m not here to try and impress anyone with made up bullshite. We all have our experiences and those should be shared to some extent. This is real and it’s happening across all industries. You clearly aren’t exposed to this or you would know otherwise. You can keep your head in the sand if you like. I don’t give a shite. Margins are shrinking for suppliers as they attempt to insulate consumers. That is what has been happening behind the scenes and there are a number of posters that can and will tell you the same thing. The problem is that they cannot just continue to absorb the added costs… it will be passed down to you in time as a consumer. Or the business that employs you and you see your bonus disappear. People like me make more money with tariffs, so on a personal level I don’t particularly care. But I do care about the overall health of our economy and that is being challenged right now.

Oh BS.
From the paper:
Show me where they state they used job creation policies and included that into this study. You cant because they did not consider it and tell you they used tariff changes only.

I never said that's what the study said.
I said that's what Scott Bessent said.
The study and Bessent are at odds.

When I stated this:
I was not arguing the OP. I was calling you out on your post above.
Again, I stated that there will be a lull prior to the benefits.

I am sure that back in the day it was beautiful but now it is not. There are few "Libtards" in Rifle, that was Boebert's district.
Colorado is a beautiful state with lots of reasonable people from across the political spectrum. You should visit.

I have been to Colorado but not riffle. The beauty of the state is undeniable. The cancer of the left is ruining it though. It is a shame.
