Those are the yummiest ones.

But have you used a Russian mob-connected guy who's been convicted of stock swindling to handle your back-channel Russia-Ukraine deals to get Russian sanctions lifted? Yeah, me neither.

quote:

A week before Michael T. Flynn resigned as national security adviser, a sealed proposal was hand-delivered to his office, outlining a way for President Trump to lift sanctions against Russia. Mr. Flynn is gone, having been caught lying about his own discussion of sanctions with the Russian ambassador. But the proposal, a peace plan for Ukraine and Russia, remains, along with those pushing it: Michael D. Cohen, the president’s personal lawyer, who delivered the document; Felix H. Sater, a business associate who helped Mr. Trump scout deals in Russia; and a Ukrainian lawmaker trying to rise in a political opposition movement shaped in part by Mr. Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort.

By your own logic those who are wanting to investigate Trump are going after their own political opponent.

Why do liberals hate logic, facts, and science so much?

What? I was posing a hypothetical as to what the Left would be saying if this were a Trump-led fishing expedition, rather than one they see implicating him and/or his supporters.

No idea if Manafort did or did not do anything wrong, but if he still had any evidence of any value left in July 2017 he deserves to go to jail. I'm sure he had a boating accident on the Chesapeake Bay where he lost all his cell phones, iPads, laptops, and other electronic devices. Also a small fire in his workshop where nearly all his paper documents were mysteriously destroyed.

It is a guarantee, that a man like Manafort, who has toed the line of legality for decades, has his tracks covered. Especially regarding his influence in the presidential election.

That being said, I don't think he did anything wrong.

As someone linked even that loon Louise is saying they didn't find anything.

quote:

Mr. Manafort’s spokesman confirmed that an F.B.I. raid had been carried out.

“Mr. Manafort has consistently cooperated with law enforcement and other serious inquiries and did so on this occasion as well,” said Jason Maloni, a spokesman for Mr. Manafort. News of the search warrant was first reported on Wednesday by The Washington Post.
quote:

The documents included materials Manafort had already provided to Congress, said people familiar with the search.“If the FBI wanted the documents, they could just ask [Manafort] and he would have turned them over,” said one adviser close to the White House.

The WaPo or NYTimes comment

quote:

It could also have been intended to send a message to President Trump’s former campaign chairman that he should not expect gentle treatment or legal courtesies from Mueller’s team.
Is their wet dream, not factual.

I didn't think counterintelligence investigations had grand juries, subpoenas and FBI raids.

I had thought if a counterintelligence investigation morphed into a criminal investigation, witnesses were allowed to come in at tehir convenience, answer questions not under oath, and that ultimately "intent" needed to be proven even though not a part of federal code that applied.

I don't know why I thought this. Maybe I'm not well informed. I really though I lived in the United States of America.

Open your eyes people. There is not equal justice under the law. We are a nation of laws when it is convenient for government personnel who have too much unchecked power. Believe your eyes. If your eyes tell you a coup in underway, and television tells you differently, believe your eyes.

Unbelieveable what is happening in this country. And Trump will be alone. No revolution is coming. If they get him, some might fire some bullets. And then on live national television the national guard will mow them down like target practice.

And they still didn't find anything? We need the swamp to be drained ASAP.

You've got La Cosa Nostra spirit, Err. I like it.

You're right that the Feds have to prove the crimes not just the connections, but it's interesting that Andrew Weissman who flipped Sater back in the White Rock case in the 90's (how Sater stayed out of jail and had his records sealed by Loretta Lynch) is on Mueller's team. This case looks more like a mob case now and less like a counter-intelligence case - and the Capo di Tutti Capi probably ain't Trump.

This specific event involved a "search warrant" which means a judge issued it based on belief that circumstances met the "probable cause" standard.

I understand how it works. Someone asked for the warrant correct? And yet in other cases that same someone/organization decided to not ask for a search warrant, correct?

Before you start to freely associate, if there have been major crimes committed, then go forward. If this turns into collateral and minor crimes, forget it.

This said, decide going forward, or forget it, equally for everyone. Hillary included. Manafort included. LSU1NSEC included. Iowa Golfer included.

So essentially the grand jury alternative isn't going very well, and Mueller is just flailing about at this point.

Also, means Mueller obviously didn't really even have enough to even ask for the grand jury to be seated, cuz hes still trying to find something. Someone must have shown his that Navy Seals post about the 'gruesome massacre' to come if they "Trump" up charges against out prez
