Amid sagging Covid-19 vaccination rates and stubborn levels of vaccine hesitancy, Dr. Anthony Fauci told CNN on Saturday the United States’ successful campaigns to eradicate smallpox and polio in the last century wouldn’t have succeeded if those vaccines were subject to the same level of misinformation that currently surrounds coronavirus vaccines. In an interview with CNN, Fauci warned that some unvaccinated adults have been exposed to false information, are often skeptical of objective Covid-19 data and frequently justify their decision not to get vaccinated with “things that are really just not true.” After anchor Jim Acosta compared the situation to polio, the government’s top infectious disease expert offered a dire warning: Fauci said efforts to eliminate smallpox (which was eradicated worldwide over 40 years ago) and polio (which has been eliminated in almost every country) would have faltered under the current climate of misinformation. If we had had the pushback for vaccines the way we're seeing on certain media, I don't think it would've been possible at all to not only eradicate smallpox, we probably would still have smallpox,” Fauci told Acosta, “and we probably would still have polio in this country if we had the kind of false information that's being spread now.”

He conveniently leaves out the part where he is responsible for much of the erroneous information!

The vaccines are still emergency use only. That is a fair reason to be skeptical of the vaccines and a pretty big point to neglect when making a comparison to other vaccines.

I bet he didn’t mention that it took 20 years of research before the government approved the polio vaccine.

I went with my wife to the doctor a few weeks ago and he asked her if she was vaccinated. She said she wasn’t and he began to hound her and said,” we’ve been having vaccines around for a long time.” He acted as though all vaccines are the same.

This isn't the government of our grandfathers. National government today isn't trusted and they've put themselves in this position. The two sides don't just differ over ideology but they can't even agree over facts and data. Stories are spun to put them and their ideas in a positive light. Our
national government officials represent themselves first and then special interest and do not appear to represent this nation or its citizens in anything unless it happens to fall in line with their own interests.
Either they don't get it or just don't care. Bottom line is this, national government and their messages aren't trusted today and I doubt the pendulum can ever swing back.

Using this kind of hyperbole is one reason many are skeptical of this vaccine.

He also leaves out that the first polio vaccines actually gave people polio.

Find a new doctor, he’s practicing politics, not medicine.

Simply asking him how many non- FDA approved “vaccines” he’d given to patients prior to Covid would reveal that he was being dishonest with you with his “we’ve had vaccines a long time” comment.

They decide what is "misinformation"
All the while their liar in chief spews lies, half truths and doomsday scenarios.
t's their own suppression of honest debate and scientific review that has caused the rebellion against them and their "vaccine".

The polio vaccine wasn't an 8 month immunity shot for a cold virus with 99.97% survive-ability.

Neither was the small pox vaccine.

So we need a government takeover of ALL media sources????

This is just weird.

Unlike COVID, both smallpox and polio had high death rates and unfathomable long term physical effects.

I shouldn't be surprised at the comparison though, in this clown world. After all, apparently Texas' tightening of anti-voting-fraud laws is just like Jim Crow.

polio was a serious event, if it did not kill it crippled for a life time. The 1950's technology was way more emergent, but people believed in it because the alternative was awful . no comparison to the social constructs today
