Politics.
This is why we should not have elected judges in the U.S.

This makes no sense dude
McAfee is probably in the quarter or so most conservative judges in the US, probably considerably higher than that. He's exactly the type of judge that would have been appointed by a conservative politician.
To the extent people are mad at him about it, they can vote him out. And then the good people of Fulton County can elect an out and out leftist in his place, of course.

The judge is a coward of the highest order. GA is a mess.

Hopefully this will turn out to be the best case scenario for Trump. (Other than the case being thrown out) Fani is a proven liar and an idiot. As I heard Trey Gowdy say several times, be careful what you ask for. You’ve got an incompetent DA leading the case. Better that than turning it over to a crackerjack lawyer.
ETA Ok, just heard Jonathan Turley say basically the same thing. So I think it’ll end up helping Trump.
There is no doubt that Fani is incompetent. The problem is this case is being brainstormed from DC. Fani/Wade were/are being directed by some high power lawyers in DC/Whitehouse.

what a sack of shite that judge is. Good grief.
So trips paid for by the taxpayers isn't considered a financial benefit?

There's only so much they can do, it's not magic here. These are novel applications of law that'll fly or they won't.
The ultimate issue is juries, not legal competence on the bench or for the respective sides.

Prior to this ruling I started a thread saying I kind of want Judge McAfee to NOT disqualify Fani. That was prior to Judge McAfee dismissing the charges surrounding the Trump/Ratburger phone call.
I wanted that information to be divulged in court and rope Ratburger into this mess. But McAfee dismissed those charges. The decision was probably made in a backroom deal probably while having dinner at Nan. Now the Ratburger office is protected somewhat from this mess.

This is one issue putting autists in positions where intelligence means things other than understanding law.
They cant read the tea leaves and understand propriety on a scale that isnt legislated.

Fani had some not so nice things to say about Wade on the stand. If she agrees to take him off the case, let’s hope he turns on her. I would not be surprised. Why should she get away with perjury but he is the fall guy? Come on, Nathan. Take her down with you lol.
Stop with the dream scenarios. This is a loss. A predictable loss given where we are as a country. But it’s a loss. Imagining how it’s a win isn’t going to help.

What was the outcome? Will it cause a major delay possibly past NOV?

In all seriousness, there are some semi-friendly Trump areas here.
But you're not getting enough jurors from there so I'm not sure it matters.

If you are looking at this from a "win the war" perspective the judge has left open many grounds for appeal (per Dersh analysis). But that is not the goal of the Biden administration. They really don't care about "winning the war". If the Biden admin loses the war it's going to be after the election. They just want to win this battle before the election.
This decision was a split decision so politically both sides have ammo.
The good news for the Trump side their opponent is Fani.

Ethics mean nothing when the target is Trump.

The system is still broken, so many innocent people have to deal with the expense and time and cant afford to.
But its great for lawyers.

absolutely despicable verdict
This wasn't a verdict. This was a decision made by the judge regarding whether she would be disqualified as counsel (supervising the prosecution on behalf of the State of Georgia/Fulton County) in the RICO matter. She wasn't charged with a crime. Hence, no verdict.
