After pulling Jimmy Kimmel off the air, ABC has been running reruns of Celebrity Family Feud in his time slot and it's getting much bigger ratings.
So why bring Kimmel back?
Overnight ratings for the September 18, 2025, *Celebrity Family Feud* rerun show 2.8 viewers —easily topping Kimmel's recent averages of about 1.1 million viewers.
This marks a roughly 150% lift in total viewership and a 200% jump in the key demo, so why pay a fortune for Jimmy Kimmel to bomb, when a free rerun does much better?

YouTubers doing streams from their basement studios draw bigger audience numbers.
And mock those who watch YouTube content, but you're only making my point for me.
Think about it.

I watch much more shite on YouTube than I do on TV. Much more.

I’ve watched Family Feud many times. Could never stomach a Jimmy Kimmel show.

I cut the cable cord years ago. I stopped subscribing to the AJC in the late 1990's. This after growing up reading the paper every day and fascinated at the concept of CNN from day 1. It's unrecognizable to how it all started. I've no need for any of it now.

Credit to the MsM for recapturing the narrative by firing this little shite bird. They went all in on Jimmy Kimmel and it Seems to have resonated hard with the boomers.

I wish I could watch and add to the ratings but that show gets me so excited, I have trouble falling asleep.

Think that the boomers are just grumpy because all of their late night routines are now being upended? Think about it, they grew up watching Jack Parr , Johnny Carson , Jay Leno & David Letterman. Now they are seeing what passes for “late night TV“ slowly being shuffled off the stage. Just like them.

It's because Steve Harvey is funny while Jimmy Kimmel has never been.

The political pressure from the Left to bring Kimmel back will be immense and if there's any way to pay off the network using US taxpayer money, that will happen, too, once the Dems get power back.

Sounds like me- 40+ years ago could never envision American news stations spewing outright propaganda and lies, yet here we are. Been decades since I picked up and read a newspaper, just biased b.s., like most magazines, even TV commercials and most everything put out by Hollyweird today... sad
