Not good at all.
1. There are a lot more blacks in the US than Asians.
2. Admissions at Harvard use aff action. Asians must have much higher test scores than blacks.
The Asians have sued in some jurisdictions but the Ivy League schools are very careful hiding aff action. They create categories like 'striving' instead of using 'race' in the admissions formula.

BTW, where did you get that number? I've been to Harvard many times and the ratio of Asian:Black is about 30:1

It's good when you consider we are comparing the best of the best from asians countries to all of the blacks here in America.
Amongst other things I've previously mentioned that held blacks back not so long ago.
I may be mistaken tho--Not sure if that's the numbers for Asian Americans only.

Since asians make up 5% and black 12.3% of our population
Then for every 400 asians there should be 984 blacks. I suggest the next book you read should be a mathematical text!
If the last lynching was 35 years ago and the last black on black murder was 35 minutes ago, I suggest you wake up and live in the present! Forgive the past, and increase your children's opportunities.
And by the way, I "think" all my ancestors were white, but I know half of them were women, none of them spoke English, none of them were assisted by government, none of them received special treatment, none of them were her for 200 years, and every one of them was married and worked hard to improve their children's lives.

Thanks for the link. I find that very weird compared to what I see visually on the campus. The most prevalent demographic I see at Harvard is Asian females.
I've always quipped that you can't walk up to an Asian girl at Harvard and offer to shake her hand.

Well since your passing out blame as to why Blacks are having such a hard time, how much blame do you put on the black Leaders of said communities and the White elite liberals who have made deals with select Black folks to keep blacks dependent upon them so they can get their votes? White elite Liberals are truly the Plantation Owners of today. And as long as anyone of any race uses an excuse asd to why its not fair then they will never succeed. Never. Instead they will look to Rap music and gangs to get their way of life ideas. That's just a fact. Ill believe they will want to really Change when black Athletes and committee leaders come out calling for blacks to quit glamorizing these rappers. Their terrible for a child's mind.

I was having lunch yesterday in Baton Rouge and overheard some teachers talking at the table next to me. From what I could gather, one was from NOLA, one was from New York and the others I am sure were from Baton Rouge
They said that in the mostly black schools they worked at, they were teaching against generations. That the parents of the kids would tell them NOT to do homework, and NOT to listen to the teachers, because that would mean they were ‘selling out’. They said that it was impossible to teach young kids anything with that dialogue going on at home. That it was impossible to teach children raised by a community that frowned upon trying to excel and get good grades and then move on to college. So the end result is a community that looks at someone getting a degree and a good job as a sellout, but it is perfectly ok to be a hairdresser or work at a nail salon.

No doubt. We have a huge culture problem. It's like black males feels as if they need to be ready to kill at any moment. We also glamorize the "street life" and label educated blacks as sell outs for not ascribing to the street life.
There's many reason why we are like this. I do not believe it is innately within us, but either way--we need to do better. But for the specific response to this post, it ridiculous to not count the vast number of oppressed yrs and believe we can over come that as a whole in 1 generation.

You obviously haven't been following along. I'm all for moving forward but this thread was addressing the failure of minorty communities...can't have that discussion without acknowledging the tremendous head start whites and and the disadvantages blacks had to over come to even be where we are today.

No, it's not ridiculous. We know from history that different cultures made huge leaps in success in very short periods of time in new environments.
The reason blacks blame it on '100s of years of oppression' is because they are unwilling to admit the alternative reason for black economic failure. Which is "We really suck at free market capitalism".

Are you referring to the "ascribe or die" way of adjusting? Adjustments by force? Well yea of course those are successful.
"We really suck at free market capitalism" can be the slogan for what--70-80% of the world? Not really saying much.
And don't place western white males cultural values on everyone else as if it's the only way to live. Some cultures don't care about having an over abundance of material things that humans don't really need.

The worst was when some bum got into my apartment complex and was sleeping on the damn treadmill in our fitness room. I got in there at 5am to do some treadmill and frick there is a bum sleeping on it. I ended up using a separate treadmill and woke his arse up - he got mad at me for being loud! The nerve. I called building security and they escorted him out.
Another time a bum got in and was literally going door to door knocking on people's rooms asking for money. Pathetic. I slammed the door in her face and called building security. I have them on speed dial now
