Expose Football players now to prevent problems in fall.

Should teams go ahead and practice now. Give players hydroxychloroquine z pack under watchful eyes of training staff (anyone, including coaches who are at risk are kept away) and let them practice.
If they do get the Woohan/Chicom Virus, then they get rested and treated. They develop a herd immunity before the fall. Plus, they are away from elderly family.
I can't imagine during the fall season, a bunch of guys playing in the trenches and not having antibodies to fight this thing. Or, just going back to class without the anti-bodies.
Thoughts?

That doesn't solve anything because you still have the fans in the stands who will be packed in like sardines. College football can't survive without fans in seats.

Only if they become symptomatic. Most won't.
But yes. Get back to practice.

As opposed to a spoken immunity?

It doesn't sound like that at all.

z pack and quinine water is what my ex marine friend in Germany started at the beginning of this mess. Why did he know?

Sounds risky when you consider the tackles.

IDK.
Parroting medical professionals that have had great success with the cocktail their hypothesis on the mechanism is as follows:
1. Hydroxychloroquine (not chloroquine and not quinine...hydroxy is safer) opens a pathway on the cell wall for zinc ion (Z+) to penetrate.
2. Once in the cell were the virus replicates the zinc ion interrupts RNA polymerase enzyme. This keeps the virus from replicating. Patients are given about 200 mg (depending on body weight) of zinc salts with Hydroxychloroquine.
3. The z-pac is given to help prevent secondary infections allowing the immune system focus on the virus.
This regiment seems to be very successful at slowing virus replication rate down sufficiently enough for patients' immune system to defeat the virus.

Well it at least takes one bullet out of Karen's gun who is mortally afraid for the student athletes

Much bigger problems than football

Terrible optics. I doubt players would be in on it.
I'm being nice.

It's a "heartless" post. But, if saving football is important, the OP is correct, and it's how we should have handled the entire healthy population. The NFL would be wise to do this. The NBA would be wise to do this. Obviously, this could not be mandatory.
With antibody testing available, these guys going through a spring camp where all of them get infected is the best thing for the sport and the best thing for them (furthers the career of college players, and gives a paycheck to professional players). Give these guys TOP NOTCH medical support...better than they would receive if they were simply infected themselves. When the fans would come back would be a different conversation. But, without fans, television money is probably much higher.
Because professional/college athletes are so healthy, this is pretty much a no brainer.
