Refugees from what? From a promising rebuilding economy? From oil wealth suddenly unleashed? The refugees are going to head south, not north.

Oh shut the frick up. You are WAY out of your element here. Stick to litigating divorces.

I wonder how long before China moves on Taiwan?
They don't have the logistical capability, maybe in a decade or so.
Unless they just want to drop some bombs.
I think their calculus will be partially based on if the US Navy gets bogged down in and around South America. Xi made a News Year's Eve speech where he said Taiwan will be reunited with the Mainland.

Be sure to wake me up when this requires 200,000 troops and 8 years

Was the invasion of Iraq by GWB "America First"?
What about the toppling of Ghaddafi in Libya?

It is said that the indictment they acted on was filed in 2020, so when the folks in the cheap seats cry about statutes of limitations, too much time has passed, etc then I would imagine that this action proves that the Trump administration is more than capable of acting on previously filed indictments, some of which may still currently be under seal.

Where did I say that? I simply said you are talking about a subject you are completely unqualified to, and should stick to domestic civil litigation.
Despite what you think, you are in fact not the smartest person in the room.

Not necessarily. It depends on what happens next. If the US focuses on plunder of oil and mineral wealth, then we will perpetuate the struggles of the common person. However, if we focus on national reform, nation building, fairness and security for the people, the people will stay and their lives may improve.
Doing it the right way is expensive.
This event has the possibility of being a good thing for the people of Venezuela. And it could get very bad very fast. We will have to wait and see how this goes.

Especially in that. In Iraq we had to send in a team to nation build a nation that had never had democratic institutions. Venezuela was a vibrant democracy up until about 25 years ago. There will be little effort on the part of the US to get Venezuela back among the world’s respectable democracies.
I think what Trump has done here is what he does best. He uses his intuition to make judicious decisions where others have failed due to ideology. I think this Venezuela action will be the textbook moving forward.

Imagine thinking that a war would come of us surgically extracting a Venezuelan president. What are they going to do about it? Bomb us with their drug boats
