Way you seriously think that $57,000 in 1970 is the equivalent to $160,000 in 2010 or 2013?
you have no idea what your own link means. Probably best to just stop

So I did exactly what you outlined and went back using the adjusted numbers as you mentioned. You were correct that it translated to about $9000 in 1970 (the $57,000 adjusted for inflation in 2010); however, based on the same inflation and buying power, our education spending has not kept up nor has the requisite spending been optimally utilized. General spending aggregates also aren’t reasonable because we know education spending in some places aren’t the same as others, and it’s reflective in outcomes

Thanks for the catch (I saw numbers and got excited)

5th graders will understand the 10th amendment better than you do at the age of 45

What other questions do you have?

argument that scores have fallen since the creation of the DOE may be accurate, but it's my opinion that this is not the biggest cause.

I can see blue states pushing "equity" and social justice awareness (indoctrination) even moreso onto kids without any federal oversight.
And if red states aren't careful, the liberals' big strategy is to take over education systems everywhere (see many colleges and universities as examples), thus the same thing can happen there, too.

or maybe- just maybe- local control of curriculums without federal influence and requirements will lead to curriculums that parents actually want and approve of?

I dont think there is much any institution can do to help a child's learning. Thats the task of the educator but PRIMARILY the parents. Thinking any department will help a child learn is foolish.

It’s never a bad idea to get rid of an unfettered, unsupervised and renegade quasi-agency being run by
a weirdo billionaire with a personal agenda and bendetta.

Personally, it could be cut by 95%. All we need is a national minimum standard that they can set, but we need a way to keep the left woke shite out of the standards they are setting.

I’m sure people smarter than I can figure out a way to pull that off!

Or not. Like that’s not DOE’s job and never has been. That’s a state and local job.

Explain how America's education system was #1 in the world before the DOE was established and barely in the top 25 now.

No, the United States has never been the top-ranked country in education. However, the US did have a period of educational excellence in the 1960s and 1970s.

In and of itself it won't...

When parents take control of their kids education at the local level.. Then you will see remarkable results...

But explain to me how ridding of the DOE will help the children.

Step 1: research where the US was BEFORE the DOE.

Step 2: research now.

That should do it. If not, repeat step 1

The restrictions placed on schools by the DOE, and the battalion of staff and administrators [district and school level] required for compliance, are counterproductive to educating kids.

The end.

Gut DOE and replace it with an education monitor that only tracks all of the nations schools for performance. Make sure there are no leftists infesting even that agency.
