My clan came over here as indentured slaves 7 boys and one girl. When they got off the ship they had a choice remain a slave or fight for the Union..They chose the latter...6 of the seven didn't make it and the last..My Great Great Grandfather lost a leg. He went on to be a one legged fireman in New Orleans..His Grandson would become a fireman also perishing in a fire in the Irish Channel (Annunciation & Philip St) when a Church collapsed killing him and another fireman....

Well, considering the Confederates killed my Great Great Uncles....You'd think I'd be all for it..But the South was able to keep some of its Pride..So..I was not for the removals.Lee and Beauregard should not have been taken down,,especially if One would actually read what they did later in Life...A lot of white men were killed to help them gain their freedom.
